Nixie's Point of View

My mother and I are on the road going to our company. My parents works as Chairmens of an exclusive company which we own. We are on the road for about three hours but we're still not there. I watched as we passed by different houses and buildings. It's getting kind of boring inside the car.

"Mom, are we there yet?" I asked her.

"Don't worry, we'll be there soon." she said which made me frown.

"Mom, you said that for millions of times. It is so boring Mom and I'm not joking." I said to her and she just laughed at me.

"Just relax." she said and continued driving which made me get bored again

We were in a place that is not familiar to me because this is the first time I'd be going to my parents' company. For some unknown reason, they never really let me go to the company. Although I find it weird, I never really argue about it. I've got nothing to do in the company anyway so why go there?

After a few hours in the road we finally arrived. The company is so big and beautiful which I had expected from the very start. It was made of glass and it was shining as the sun rays hit its surface. My Mom started walking so I followed her. As we walk many employees greeted my Mom over and over again. Mom went inside a room on the fifth floor of the company and there I saw my Dad. I ran to him and hugged him quickly. It has been weeks since the last time I saw him. He was so busy with business and always fly to different countries.

"My dear Nixie. I miss you" he said and gave me a kiss on the forehead.

I smiled at him and hugged him tighter. I heard my Mom giggled because of what I did.

"So, what do you two want for lunch?" Dad asked while holding a telephone.

"I'd like a steak and some salad, Daddy." I smiled sweetly and Dad just nodded as a yes to what I want.

"You just gobbled up a lot of cookies, Nixie. Will you be able to finish the steak?"

"Of course, Mom! Who wouldn't?" I joked but I was serious about finishing a whole steak for lunch.

"I'll just call my secretary to get us the food."

Dad talked to his secretary over the telephone and I busied myself with my phone. Shortly, the lunch arrived and we had a happy meal inside Dad's office.  After lunch, we went to a nearby park and Mom set up a picnic blanket for us to sit onto. Dad opened the basket he got from his secretary and removed all of its contents one by one. There were a lot of foods stored inside of that small picnic basket.

I haven't fully digested the steak I ate for lunch but here I am again, in front of a food heaven where I can eat everything. Even though the foods prepared were my favorites, I wasn't that enthusiastic as I expected that I'll be.

"I'm still full, Mom."

"See? I told you that the steak was too much. You should have just ate a sandwich for lunch."

"Yeah, I should have done that." I pouted and stared sadly at the food

Dad chuckled beside me and ruffled my hair before giving me money. I looked at him confused and asking what I was supposed to do with the money he gave.

"There are bikes that you can rent in the entrance. Rent one to help your digestive system digest the steak in your tummy faster. Come back when you feel hungry."

"Yeah, that's a great idea Nixie. Explore the park first with a bike and come back. Don't go too far away from us. You might get lost."

"Okay, Mom and Dad. I'll be back after I digested all I ate."
