Nixie's Point of View

It was a boring day. I'm in my class for self-defense and all the words uttered by our professor had sounded gibberish for my ears. The words went in from one ear and exits to another. How long would this process be?

"I have brought some new tools I got from the market yesterday." Professor Grudge sais and that caught my attention.

I looked in front to see what he brought. The professor is now showing some deadly weapons that can protect us from people with powerful Art. 

"This is the simpliest dagger that can be a big help to you outcasts…"

There he goes again. I may not be that attentive to our lesson but I know I can catch up. It was just self-defense. What can ever go wrong? I may be interested in fun activities but I don't like too much words. I feel stuffy when I get stuck in the middle of a boring and repetitive class.

"Tomorrow I may give you a quiz. You should all incorporate all the things you learned today. Your utmost participation will be needed because Levi will be your target."  

Half of the class gasped in shock when our professor said that. I may have gasped too in surprise but I really don't have the energy to do so. Sure, the fact that Levi will be our target sent shock and excitement to me. However, I decline the chance of reacting. I honestly felt drained.

"Mr. Grudge, wouldn't that be a very impossible quiz? Levi is very strong so how can we defeat him?" one of our classmates queried.

I agree with him. Levi was really impossible to defeat. Judging by how they described him, I felt like he was invincible. I may not have seen his Art yet but I'm getting a feeling that he has a very powerful unbeatable Art.

"Who said that you will defeat him? The quiz will be conducted to show your skills, so forget about defeating Levi. You only need to do your best."

"What if he uses his Art? Wouldn't that endanger us?" I shot a glance to Elisha who had given the question.

Plus points to her for bringing up that question. It has a high probability that Levi might really use his Art. Study proves that it's natural for someone to fight back when he feels threatened. I believe that changing the target will be the right decision.

"He won't. He knows the danger of using it. Believe me that you will be perfectly safe."

The unending question and answer portion of the class continued and it made me bored as ever. I wish something interrupts this class.

And God heard me.

"Attention! Please proceed to the auditorium for the announcement. Classes are temporarily stopped." a voice had said from the speakers attached on every room.

Because of that we all went out and walked our way to the auditorium. When we arrived, many students were there already. We sat on our usual spot, by the auditorium door and kept quiet. I wonder what this announcement is for.

"What will be the announcement?" Elisha asked herself or maybe me. She is frowning because she enjoyed holding weapons in our classes, which I felt the opposite.

"No one knows." I said and I saw Headmaster Cray in the stage. He was wih Ms. Farrah and they seemed serious.

There seems to be a problem judging from their expressions. Out of habit, my gaze looked for the famous Elites. They followed the headmaster and Miss Farrah on the stage. Just like the two high ranks in the academy, they were also wearing such serious expression.

"Good morning students. We gathered here for an important announcement." Headmaster Cray started.

"Why do they look serious? It's making me nervous and anxious." Elisha commented on the side while keeping her attention in front.

"We are anxious to say that Artemis Academy received a threat from an anonymous person from the lost City of Medusa." everyone gasped because of what Headmaster Cray said.

Lost City of Medusa? What's that? I haven't heard of that yet.

"The three magic worlds agreed on a plan. Every city will pick outstanding students from the Academy of Apollo, Athena's War University and our very own Artemis Academy. Those students that will be picked will go on a dangerous mission to the lost City of Medusa."

"Lost City of Medusa is where the bad creatures were locked away. They were banished and were prohibited in entering the magic world again." As if Elisha read my mind, she answered my question.

"They will be tasked to kill every last Gorgon, living in that scary place. And I have the list of names that will team up with the other students from different Academy." he said again.

This piqued my interest. An adventure would have been fun.

"Serafina Strife, Tyler Edwards, Madison Davis, Levington Cray and lastly…" Headmaster Cray trailed off for a moment, "Nixie Summers."

I thought I was having a defect in hearing when he said my name. Did I just heard him right? Was I really a part of that mission? Why would I be?

"Oh my gosh! You are included Nixie!" Elisha stated and the others shot me a deadly glare.

There it goes again. Why were they angry? It's not my fault that I was included. If they have a problem with the selection they should go to Headmaster Cray and point it out. Not shoot death glares towards me.

"I will say the names of the students from Athena University. There is Gerome Walter, Lucas Pendleton and Henrietta Nicols." Headmaster Cray continued.

The names mentioned were familiar to me. They were also introduced last festival week in Apollo City.

"From the Apollo Academy is Fiona Kane, Piolo Kane, Dianne Von and Richie Damon." Headmaster finished.

"Thank you for coming." Ms. Farrah said and everyone went out of the auditorium except for us who went to the meeting area.

"As you all know, the City of Medusa is the least place we wanted you all to go to."

"Tomorrow we will be meeting the others. You can head back to your dormitories." Ms. Farrah said and went out.

They all went out and I was left here. What is really happening? Is it the end of the world? Geez. It is getting more creepier in here. I went out and head to my room. I saw Elisha sleeping. I checked the sky and it was night time. I didn't noticed that.

I went to my own bed and started to sleep but I failed. Many thoughts is intruding my mind.  This will be a sleepless night for me. I wish it would go well.
