Nixie's Point of View
My head really hurts. It feels like my head is being stabbed by a dagger. I held onto it and I realized I was on a small bunk bed. I got some bandages on my arms and my dress had changed from the battle outfit to normal clothes.
What happened?
I tried to think of what happened but I can't remember anything. It was as if I was born again with an empty memory. Geez. My head really hurts.
"Your awake." a voice finally broke the mellow atmosphere here in the room.
My gaze landed on Elisha. She quickly sat straight and looked at me with worried drawn all over her face.
"I was so worried about you, Nixie. Are you feeling well?" I smiled weakly at Elisha who is now sitting beside me.
"I'm fine. What happened?" I asked her and tried to sit but I failed because my back hurts too.
What did I do to obtain all these body pains? I can't remember what happened so how am I supposed to connect the dots to answer my own question?
"We won the battle. If you can't recall it, we had a battle with the other outcasts and we won!" she said happily with a grin stuck on her lips.
"Did we?" I reiterated without much enthusiasm in my voice.
"That's why we're exempted in the next battle. Isn't it great?" she asked me and I smiled at her again to assure her that I was happy with the news.
"Where am I?" I asked her in a groggy voice.
"I don't know what exactly happened after the battle but I also woke up here in the academy hospital. It was great that I didn't have many wounds so I got discharged right away."
"We're in the hospital?"
"Yeah. I also asked Miss Farrah about you. I asked whether you will stay here for a few more days or you'll get discharged today."
"What did Miss Farrah said?" I muttered, silently hoping that I can go out this afternoon
"She said you needed a few more days here in the hospital. I'll visit you every right after class so don't worry."
"Okay. Thank you for doing all that trouble to visit me."
"Yeah it's fine. Your my friend so that is jusy a very small thing."
I smiled at her once again and stared at the ceiling. Elisha also started to peel some fruits for me to eat while she is gone. I was dozing off reality again when a sudden question popped into my head.
"Elisha." I called and she looked at me
"Why? Is there something wrong?" she worriedly asked and left what she was doing.
"No. I'm fine. I just have a question to ask you."
"Sure. Go ahead."
"If this is a hospital, then you have doctors and nurses here right?"
"Doctors and nurses? What are those Nixie?"
"They are medical professionals that treats people who are sick. They--" I trailed off and realized it now. "You don't have doctors and nurses here do you?"
"Are those alien people kind of things?" she asked hesitantly and I nodded. "We don't have those Nixie. Everything here is done with magic. Instead of those doctors and nurses, we have witches here."
"Witches?!" I frantically asked a bit surprised and scared at the same time
"Yeah. As a matter of fact, a black witch treated your wound." she asked me.
