Chapter 26

MAY 2014

-ELEANOR-

I didn't noticed the time went by too fast,I closed a door for all of them.I shut them all out in my life,even Louis and Harry.I guess you could say I changed..

I spent my weekends going back to London on a Saturday morning,spend the whole afternoon on the cemetery,on my sister's grave.Telling her what happened in my life...Then go back to Manchester beffore the sun goes down on Sundays.

I've seen my mum more often than before,but still,no change.

"Hey Tina.how are you feeling?" I asked my sister,who's lying on a hospital bed,it was her first chemotheraphy.My mum and my dad are both working,I have to skip school so someone will be here for Athena.

"I feel sick Jane,how about you?" she snarled,I chuckled and pretended that I'm okay with seeing her like this. The circles around her eyes are dark,her hair starting to fall off.and more bruises on her body.

"I feel terrible." I answered both of us laughed at that.Until a doctor came looking for either my mum or dad.

"You know that they're not here right?I'm Jane Calder,Tina's older sister" I told them shaking the doctor's hand.It was a different doctor this time,The litle me spoke,my voicce was a little high pitched but I tried to be more sophisticated and less intimidating.

"Jane,you're just 13 years old,and we have to discuss this with your mommy and daddy,it's too complicated for you" he said.

My eyes started to water,they don't understand me,do they? "I can handle complications doctor!I will try to understand what you'll say.Mum's not here always!you know that!She only went here to pay for the bills." I bursted out. Athena can't stand up because she's weak.

"Okay...we need a bone marrow transplant so Athena can live longer" he said,direct to the point.Of course I know what a bone marrow is.

"So,what should we do?" I asked him again. He started to get irritated with all these questions,I have to ask.

"We should find someone who can give Athena a bone marrow,but we still have to see if it will match with her bone marrow" he explained,I nodded.I fully understood what he said. "Test mine sir.I will do everything for my sister" I finally said. Athena looked at me with eyes wide open,same as the doctor's

"We still need your parents to know what's happening to your sister.I need to see your parents first before we test you and everything" he said,I was so frustrated since that day.

"Fine,do what you want to do!" I shouted at them,leaving my sister all alone in the hospital.I walked out of that hellhole that day,trying to find some place when I can think properly.

Until I found this girl,whose name is Gemma Anne.

"Why are you crying?Are you okay girl?" she asks,she's picking some daisies even though it's not allowed. "I'm fine now,I'm J---,Eleanor by the way" I told her,only Tina can call me Jane,I smiled at her,she did the same.

"Oh,silly me.I'm Gemma Anne.I'm from Cheshire,I'm just visiting my dad's house" she happily said,we became instant bestfriends since then.

But it was for a meantime,she had to go back to Cheshire,but we did gave each other our address and our numbers,we promised each other that we'll keep in touch.

And we did,when Athena died,I had noone beside me,mum didn't even bothered to go to my graduation because she had to go to Sunderland that time,and I'm glad I knew nana's address,I had to go back to her house,just to let her know that I'm graduating.

And then after highschool,I spent most of the summer at Gemma Anne's, I met lots of people there, that's also the time I met Harry,I fancied him for a moment, but I saw him more as a friend because he's really caring.

I go back there whenever I want to, they welcome me there and they see me as a real person, and I'm glad I have someone that I can talk to. When I was in highschool, most of the students see me as a weirdo, because I don't talk that much. I was a depressed child but no one knew.No one knew what hell I've gone through.

But that's life,I learned how to get past it. I went to college. I tried to get my mother's attention by applying to a course close to what she's doing right now. Even though I hate it, I just learned how to appreciate it.

But she never saw what I did...

Not until Harry set me up with Louis...as his girlfriend all for publicity.She criticized me for dating a famous guy,she doesn't even know who Louis is.and I never wanted to let her know who he is...Never.

"Eleanor,are you with us?" Alana asked.I snapped back into reality.

"Of course I am" I laughed nervously as she packed her stuffs.She's going back  to her hometown.

While I am still confused if I should stay here in Manchester or not? I've finished school and I'm just waiting for my graduation day.And of course I told my parents that I did finish the course that I applied to,and hopefully they'll be proud of me.

I did this for myself,too. It's an achievement for me to finish college. Because I feel like I've never done something good in my life,I'm a mess.I've caused so many problems in my life and in others,too.

"I'm gonna miss you,El.Are you going back to London?" Emma asked. I shrugged. Most of them noticed that I've changed,that I became more quiet and more reserved.Max and Talisha always say that I'm getting all this Zayn-problem on my system. 

"Oh....before I leave,El.Come with me.I want to go to Starbucks before I leave Manchester" Alana said to me,I just nodded and went to my room to change for a more proper clothing. I am craving for some coffee,too. and I haven't been around town ever since I shut everybody down.I think going out is a good thing.

We drove 'round town,for a nice cup of coffee,Alana brought all her things.I hated her for letting me go back on our flat alone.and without a transportation. "You dragged me into this,and you're gonna leave me her.ALL ALONE,Alana." I groaned she just laughed at me.

"Don't worry,you're not alone.Someone's actually there to meet you." she said excitedly. Yanking me inside. "Okay,stop!You're hurting me with all this dragging!and second,I don't want to meet someone" I groaned,but she still did it anyway.

But still,I went along with Alana.

"Gemma Anne!What are you doing here?!" I shrieked as I saw Gemma,she's smiling at me,obviously holding back her excitement. She just did this 'you gotta do what you gotta do' face. I hugged her,Alana excused herself so Gemma and I could catch up.

"I'm picking you up,Lani told me that you're already done with the uni.So here I am...being a good friend" she uttered. Pick me up? "and take me where?" I asked,confused. What the hell is she talking about?

"with me!duh!I need someone who can live me with me in my flat in London.come on!" she enthusiastically said.

"Gem?What?!I'm not going with you." my eyes widened.

"Please?wait...just go with me.please?" she pleaded. Her face turned into a serious one. "Fine,I will go with you.Can we just go back to the flat first so I can get some things that I need?" I finally gave in.I'm not hard to convince.That's why I always get hurt.

"Yey!H will be so thrilled!" she shrieked.
