D sat in the forest waiting for James to respond to her. Three monsters were circling around her waiting for her to move. "Ok, three monsters and I have three bullets," D whispered to herself. D loaded her pistol and put an arrow in her back pocket. D stood up and one of the monsters rushed at her. D hot her pistol and killed the monster in one shot. The other two heard the shot and they jumped into the trees. D shot twice and saw one of the monsters fall limp to the ground. The last one jumped down next to D. D kicked the monster in the chest and shot her arrow into the monster's head.
"You're funny," said a small voice behind D.
"Who was that," replied D.
"Taylor."
"You look really young."
"I'm fourteen, I turn fifteen tomorrow."
"Don't care, why are you here?"
"I was ditched by my friend Carlo."
"Well he's not much of a friend if he did that."
"No, I, I don't know, I told him to find his best friends Ross and Delaney."
"Where are they?"
"They ran into a tower together to find their cousin."
"Are they related?"
"In a way, yes, but they were born apart from each other, and Ross was lost when he was born."
"What happened?"
"Everyone thought he died, but Carlo found him at a bowling alley four years ago."
A voice was coming from the bushes. All D could make out was the voices yelling for Taylor. Taylor yelled back as three kids walked out from the trees. One was tall and had medical pipes running through his body. He was walking and talking fine. Another was a short boy who had short hair and was holding a rifle. The last was a girl the same height as the smaller boy. She was wearing a gas mask with a hoodie and three knifes hung from her jeans.
"These must be your friends," said D putting out her hand.
"If you're wondering these pipes are taking fat out of a blister I had," said the tall boy.
"That's Ross, he talks a lot, but he can shoot anything with perfect aim," said Taylor taking the pipes off.
"You don't need to take the pipes of Taylor."
"Yes he does," the girl took off her gas mask.
"No he doesn't, I can't feel them and they're helping," replied Ross.
"Sure they are, and who is this?"
"Her name's Dandelion, and she's the girlfriend of James Harpy," replied Taylor.
"WAIT!," yelled Carlo looking at D, "you know James Harpy."
"Well, it was nice to met you guys but I have to go find James."
"No don't leave," they all said together.
"Fine you guys go that way," said D pointing at the darkness of the forest, "I'll go this way."
The four kids followed the direction D pointed in as D went the way she pointed for her to go.
