Maddie was panicking, she looked at Matt who was scratching at Eric's face. His face was pale like he was dead, but something strange happened. The necklace Eric was wearing started to glow. Crimson liquid came out of it and went into Eric. A flash of light hit Maddie in the face like a baseball and she didn't see what happened.
When the light disappeared Eric sat up and looked around.
"Where is Banana Jr.?" asked Eric.
"Who's that?," Maddie asked smiling at Eric.
"The cat thing like Matt but stronger, wait where are we?,"
"At the bottom of the mountain, we need to move it's about to snow,"
Eric looked around for the forest he found all his stuff. The forest was a few miles away. Got up looked at Maddie, winked, and started to run down the hill they were on. While Eric was running down he tripped and landed on his stomach. Eric looked at his stomach and the bear wound was gone. It was like it was all a dream. eric started to walk and kick stones until he got to a little lake. He took off his shoes and socks and dipped his feet in the water. Eric reached down and picked up some water and started to drink. He hadn't drank anything in the last day.
Maddie came running down the hill falling and rolling. She tripped over rocks and twigs. She was holding Matt in her arms whenever she tripped. Maddie made it to the lake and tripped on Eric's shoes. She fell in the water and threw Matt at Eric before he went under. Eric laughed and helped her get out of the freezing water. "Would you like some coco, fine princess?," asked Eric sarcastically. Maddie looked up at him and pinched his leg. "Ow ya, jerk!," screamed Eric at Maddie. Maddie jumped out of the water and got a linen towel out of her bag. She wrapped it around her waist and sat on a log.
It was almost dark now, and Eric had made a fire by rubbing a stick on a rock. Matt was curled up by the fire and Maddie was asleep on a makeshift bed. Eric was sitting on a log keeping the fire alive. He sat with paper in his hand throwing it in. The fire would grow and Eric would spit into it. He sat there and looked around. A small noise came from behind a bush.
Little wings poked out the the bush then disappeared. Eric got up and threw a rock at the bush. The bush rattled then everything went quiet again. Eric laid down on his makeshift bed and looked at the stars. He switched from dream world and real world and the only difference was that Matt wasn't there. Also Maddie disappeared is the real world. Eric got up and walked over to the bush. He kicked it as hard as he could and the body of a snake came tumbling out. Gross, Thought Eric to himself. Eric sat back down but on his bed. It was put up in a tree for safety. He looked down at the world and closed his eye.
The next morning Maddie was the first to wake up. She still had some spider meat, and was cooking it over the fire. Over time it slowly became darker and the poison came off. Eric was still asleep when Matt woke up. Matt started to run around and scream about his dream. "Madds, Madds, listen I had the best dream," Matt said to Maddie. Maddie looked away from the fire and at Matt. He was running around the dead snake Eric forgot to throw in the woods.
Eric woke up an hour later to Maddie and Matt playing a game. He jumped down from the tree onto his bag.
"What's going on?," asked Eric.
"Playing a game," replied Maddie chasing Matt.
Matt ran up to Eric and hid behind him. Eric picked him up and put him in his pocket. He barely fit and his head was poking out. Matt started to chew on Eric's Pants pocket and ripped off a little bit of it. Matt was chewing on the cloth, while Maddie was trying to grab him. Matt jumped out of Eric's pocket, and started to run in circles.
Eric stood there looking at Maddie. Her hair was darker than before. It was almost black.
"Why is your hair darker, Maddie?," asked Eric.
"Oh, I made this dye out of mud and sand," replied Maddie
Eric watched as Maddie pulled out a bag of sand like substances. It was a dark brown, and it had a little glimmer to it. Maddie pulled some out and threw it at Eric. It got all in his hair. "Go, get in the water," said Maddie gesturing to the water. Eric shrugged and with his light brown hair, dunked his head in the water. When he pulled his head out, Maddie handed him a piece of broken glass to look at his hair.
When Eric looked into the glass he saw that his hair had turned a darker shade of brown. "What did you do?!," screamed Eric. Maddie laughed. Eric dunked his head back into the water trying to get the dye off. His hair didn't change color. He stood away from the water and leaned against the tree. He slide down the side and sat on the ground. "Don't be such a baby," said Maddie laughing. Eric looked up and stepped on a bug. He got up and pushed Maddie into the water. Eric started to laugh, "It looks better now."
Eric was sitting on a log when Matt jumped into his pocket. He poked his head out and started to nibble on his jeans. It was snowing bad. Maddie was wearing a heavy pink coat and Eric was wearing a yellow cap, a green heavy coat, and snow boots he found. Eric and Maddie were huddled together under a huge blanket. There was no cave anywhere. Maddie had fallen asleep but Eric was sharpening his daggers. He had been whittling with them earlier and made a spear for Maddie. Matt was still in Eric's pocket eating a piece of the jeans. The entire pocket had been eaten by Matt. Eric than fell asleep leaning on Maddie.
The next morning Eric was the first up. He started to collect fire wood so he could make a little hut and a small fire. He was walking in a circle around a large tree when he saw a little steel hatchet put up against a tree. He went over and picked it up, then held it in the sun to see if it was damaged. It looked brand new except a tear in the leather handle. He started to push it into a tree, and it went through the tree like butter. The tiny tree slipped of it's base and fell to the ground. Eric picked up the wood, and started to cut it into smaller branches.
Matt flew onto Eric's shoulder while he was cutting. Matt started to poke into a branch like a woodpecker. Matt picked a branch with his mouth and walked back to where he was asleep. Eric continued to cut until he heard the same noise from a bush as before. The bush rustled and Eric kicked it, it stopped then it repeated. whatever the noise was it was stalking Eric. He walked back to the camp and laid the axe on Maddie's bag. He than pulled his daggers out of his bag.
Eric went back over to where the noise came from. He pulled apart the bushes and looked in. There was nothing there, but when Eric started to leave the noise was back. He threw his daggers as hard as he could at the bush. The noise stopped. A squeal came from the bush. Eric kicked the bush one more time to make sure whatever it was, it was dead. Eric pulled apart the bush and saw a little tail poking out. Eric picked it up. In his hand, Banana jr. was dead.
