"alex, that's enough!"
ryan heard mike's shout from the other side of the garden, followed shortly by the distinct sound of a pot smashing. he smirked to himself when he realised it was just alex losing his temper again.
he stood up slowly and made his way to the other side of the garden where tyler had alex's bicep in a death grip, holding him back for whatever reason.
"you have got to learn to control your temper. can i actually trust you alone whilst we go out?" mike said exasperated. alex ripped his arm away from tyler and replied,
"sure you can. besides, i'm not alone."
he does have a point, ryan mused. tyler, jody, alex and himself were all instructed to stay and 'guard' the house whilst the others were out. it was the care workers' way of saying they couldn't take everyone.
not that ryan minded, he'd always preferred to be with less people anyway.
mike turned around and saw ryan as well as a few other residents. he sighed to himself and shook his head before speaking,
"right, if you're going on the trip then get ready." he started and then gestured to the remaining four, "as for you lot, help alex clear this mess up,"
ryan groaned as the care worker walked off and sent an annoyed look towards alex. the boy just sneered slightly and began picking up the broken pieces.
this was going to be a long day.
—————
"are you sure you're gonna be okay on your own?" mike asked for the hundredth time.
alex and jody rolled their eyes in sync as tyler and ryan shared a look.
"we'll be fine, go already," jody smiled at them, ushering the residents out of the door.
"alright, don't try anything. see you later!" mike called out behind his shoulder before closing the door.
the four shared a look for a moment before alex shrugged and wandered into the lounge. him turning on the television snapped the others out of whatever muse they had themselves in.
tyler and jody walked off together, leaving ryan alone for a moment. he thought about what to do for a second and decided that, even when mike and may li were gone, there was hardly anything exciting to do.
he entered the lounge and threw himself on the sofa, his legs landing on top of alex's lap. the boy frowned but didn't move them so ryan got comfy.
about an hour later, alex began getting distracted by something outside.
"hey, what the hell are they doing?" alex asked, grabbing ryan's attention as his questioning gaze settled on the window.
ryan stood from his spot on the sofa and got closer to the window. after examining the situation for a second he merely shrugged, turning around to face alex.
