*before i get into anything, i just wanted to say thanks for five thousand reads!*i didn't want to use a full chapter just for an author's note so i've added in some extracts/prompts from ideas that i don't think i'll get around to writing. never say never though, i may look back on these at some point and decide that i could write a drabble or two. who knows.
anyway, i'm just going to say now that my updating is going to become even more inconsistent than it already is. school is bearing down on me like no tomorrow and i've got to put my revision/homework/general schoolwork first. unfortunately, that's how it is but i enjoy writing so i'm not going to suddenly fall off the radar.
i will try and update when i can but that could be in days or weeks. besides, i'll still be around, just not writing as much as i would like.
right, now that's been said, enjoy this mess of a chapter : )

"it has been eight years, two hundred and five days since his mother placed him into care. since she ripped him away from his sister.
but who's counting?"

"arrogant boy, love yourself so no one has to;
they're better off without you;
arrogant boy, cause a scene like you're supposed to;
they'll fall asleep without you;
you're lucky if your memory remains."(ik this is an atl lyric but it gave me a fleeting idea that i forgot, don't drag me plz)

"alex loves ryan, but there is one thing that alex loves most about ryan. he could look like absolute shit to someone else, but to alex? he could not care less because ryan would meet alex's eyes and bite his lip as he smiles, bringing his sweater paws up to his face, cheeks dusted with pink, eyes sparkling with love and happiness and- fuck. that look is reserved for alex.
and it reminds him of why he fell in love in the first place."

" "you're not your mum, ty."
there is one thought that rolls in ryan's mind but not off his tongue: tyler could not be like his mother, if he was then that meant ryan was like his own and there are some demons that a child is just not ready to face."

"fairy tales forgot to mention the monsters inside of your head."

"mike sighed to himself before turning to chloe, trying to keep his voice void of emotion, "you can't tell ryan, not yet."
the girl looked up at him in confusion and anger, "w - why not!" she exclaimed, "he has a right to know what happened. you can't just kee-"
the care worker put his hand up and interrupted her, "chloe, you're brother can't take another heartbreak." he snapped. taking a deep breath, he pretended not to notice the other residents standing in the kitchen doorway.
"end of discussion." he finished quietly, not waiting for chloe's reaction as he gazed out of the window."

"(they are all so fucking pathetic, why do you bother trying to justify your actions?
...
oh, because they are your friends? do you really think they give a flying shit about you? they don't care about you, do you really believe what they are saying?
...
they are lying. you don't need them, or anyone. friends are not important for survival, they only make life a bit more bearable. but if you become dependent on them, and you will, can you really vouch for them? do you really think they care about you?
...
stop lying, of course you don't believe that, idiot. how do i know? because you're trying to convince the voices inside your head.)"

by the way, feel free to use any of these as prompts or extracts in your own stories if you'd like, just give me some credit for the ideas XD
