Chapter 8 - Back to Kanto

The flight was a long 3 hours. I passed the time by listening to music and playing on my phone. Every now and again i looked at lucario ; he was always asleep. I never understood how he could sleep so easily.

As the plane began to land, my ears started burning. I placed my head in my legs until ithe burning finally stopped. We had landed. I shook lucario to wake him up. " We are here!" I exclaimed. We waited until the captain allowed us to leave the plane. When we left the plane we expected the sun to just start setting but it was still high in the sky. I checked my watch. It was still 3PM. I soon realised that there was a 3 hour time difference between Alola and Kanto.  After we retrieved our luggage, we headed straight for Team Rockets HQ. It has the same desin as the one in Alola but it was alot bigger. I obtained my discuise from the mission control section. It was a blue and white striped tank top, white trousers, black boots and a yellow bow. It was exactly what the real Captain wore when i met him.After i got dressed i looked in the mirror. My face still looked like Ash eventhough my body was muscular and covered in scars from training. I needed something that would cover my face and hair. I made the desicion, for the sake of the mission, to cut and dye my hair. 

We ran out of HQ and towards the local barbers in Celedon city. " What can i do for you today sir?" the barber asked when i walked through the door. " Dye and cut please" I said blandly. "Sure thing. There are seats over there if your pokemon would like to sit." He pointed. "So, what would you like?" I sat down on a chair facing a big mirror. " Just make me look completely different."

Two hours had passed. I paid the man and walked out of the barbers. I looked at my watch. It was 5:30 PM. I had short brown hair with blond tips in the place of my old long raven black hair. I grabbed my luggage from the team rocket HQ and headed on my journey to Pallet town.

I tred through he muddy paths of the viridian forest. We had been walking for over two hours. we were drawing nearer and nearer towards Pallet. In the distance i saw a group of trainers all huddled together. I immediatley put Lucario in his pokeball. There were 4 people and 4 pokemon.  I walked closer and they became clearer. The pokemon were Togechick, Geodude, Marill and Piplup. One trainer had tied up orange hair. Another had brown hair which was acsessorised with a orange head band. One of the final two had long blue hair with a pink hat and the other had brown spikey hair. It was Misty, Tracey, Dawn and Brock. I froze. Hate suddely completely filled my mind. I ran up to them and screamed " I CHALLENGE YOU TO A ..." I had second thoughts. I  didn't want them to see lucario. They were all staring at me. I hadent realised how much i had grown. I was taller than both Misty and Dawn and almost as tall as Tracey and Brock but i was by far more muscular. "Oh, I mistook you for powerful trainers. I'm Sorry." I said smuggly. They were speechless. They all cleared to the sides of the path so i could watch through. I saw they were angered but stopped themselves getting into a fight with me due to what i was packing. After i passed them, i could tell that they were whispering about me but I didnt care.

I reached the pokemon centre in pallet town and handed Nurse Joy my only pokeball. " I'd like a room for tonight please." I demanded. " I'm sorry sir but we haven't any rooms left." She trembled. I saw that she was terrified of me for some reason or another. I looked around and everyone was avoiding direct eye contact with me and keeping at least 2 foot from me. " Im sorrry miss, I didnt mean to scare you. It's just... Im going to a funeral tomorrow and im a little tense." I sighed. " It's okay sir, we all get like that sometimes. If you like you can stay at our local professors house." She gulped. I nodded and she proceeded to call Professor Oak. " The Professor said it was ok and you should go round straight away." She said. Just as she finished her sentence Misty, Tracey, Dawn and Brock walked in." Oh you four, would you be ever so kind in showing this man to Professor Oak's lab?" She asked. hile she handed Lucario back. They all glared at me. I gave a smug smile in return. " Nah it's okay Nurse Joy. I will find my own way round. It's quite a small town." I denied. I walked through the pokemon centre's doors and gave a small wave with my back turned. 

I knew exactly how to get to Professor Oaks but i pretended not to know as the Captain had never been there before. I reached the Lab and Oak started running out towards me. " Oh hello , hello good sir. Its a pleasure to have you here." He smiled while rappidly shaking my hand. In the blink of an eye he whisped me into his kitchen with a drink of hot chocolate in my hand sat at the table. He sat besides me and asked " Who are you ? How do you know Ash and why have you decided to come to his funeral?" He questioned. " Well my name is Captain... Edward. I met Ash on his journey to the Hoenn Region. I came here because Ash was a great kid and i would like to pay my respects." I answered. Oak then smiled Awkwardly." Sorry about that sir . Ash's mum , Delia, wants to get as much information about her little boy as possible." He aplogised. " It's okay , I understand. If you don't mind i'm going to head to bed as i've had a long journey and the time difference has messed with my head." I glanced at my watch. It was already 9PM. I started walking up the stairs. " Wait, Edward. I didnt tell you which room to go in. It's the last room on the right." He called up. How could i have been so stupid. The captain wouldnt have known where to go. " Oh and there are some other guests , all boys do no need to worry." He added. "Thanks . Night" I called down. At that moment Tracey and Brock stumbled in panting. "Great timing!" Professor Oak exclaimed. " This is Captain Edward." He pointed at me. "Yeh we have met... Anyway there is a more pressing matter at hand. There is someone from Team rocket here and they stole our pokemon !" They yelled. I gave a small chuckle. "You think that's funny do you?" They screamed. " I think is ironic that the ones who hated Ash the most have bothered to come to his funeral.Now goodbye i'm going to rest." I walked into my room and shut the door. " Please, just please help them." I heard a whisper through the door. " Fine!" I muttered. I opened the door and revealing that a little boy with black hair was the whisperer. It was Max. I brushed past him, ran down the stairs and grabbed both Brock and Tracey by the arms. "Show me where they are." I ordered. They both nodded at me and lead me right outside Ash's former house. Cassidy and Butch stood there in the process of taking a young blond haired girl's Dedenne. It was Bonnie. She was in tears. " I Captain Edward , Order you to stop or else you will have to deal with me!" I declared. "Nah we are alright mate!" Butch responded. They gave me no choice. They should have realised who i was when i said my cover name . I grabbed my pokeball but remembered that they were not to see him. I ran at both Cassidy and Butch. In fright they dropped dedenne who ran back to Bonnie. I punched them in the stomach before they could run away. They fell to their knees. I grabbed their back packs which held the stolen pokemon in and lobbed them at Tracey and Brock who were staring in disbelief at my awsome power. "Get out of here, this is MY mission." I hissed in a low volume so only Butch and Cassidy could hear. They ran off in a heart beat clutching their stomachs. Suddenly everyone started cheering " Captain! Captain!" I shrugged and walked back to the lab which left everyone in confusion.

I got back to my room and let out Lucario. " Hey buddy , sorry you were stuck in there for so long." I said. He instantly flopped onto the single bed in the room and fell asleep. "Typical you."I laughed. Suddenly something caught my eye. I saw my reflection in the mirror. It wasn't me. My face was exactly like i saw the real captain a few years ago but the rest of my body was me. No wonder everyone was calling me sir. I looked like a middle aged man , not an 11 year old boy. It was like what happened with Meliodas.I decided to try something. " I'm Meliodas." I thought. My face changed to what it was before i left Alola. "I'm Ash." My face changed to a younger and weaker version of myself. " I'm the Captain." My face changed back to the Captain. I had no idea what was going on...
