Ten Minutes later at the Pokemon Centre. (Ash POV)
We finally arrived at the Pokemon Centre. Lillie healed up her Vulpix and her Wishiwashi and I bought some Pokepuffs for Lucario. Nurse Joy was still slightly scared of me so I tried to avoid putting her in a postition uncomftorbal for her but part of me craved the fear that everyone should have of me.
Suddenly a news report flashed onto the television screen.
"THIS JUST IN. TWO PEOPLE ARE TO BE MARRIED AT THE BATTLE FIELD AFTER THE FINALS AT THE ALOLAN LEAGUE. WHO YOU MAY ASK? WE'LL FIND OUT IN A BIT."
I sniggered. You'd have to be dumber than a fish to get married there unless one of the couple actually won the torniment, then it would be a pretty good idea. Lillie noticed that I was in a daze and prodded me in the shoulder.
"Oy what did you do that for?" I moaned even though it didn't hurt.
"You were going to another planet so i brought you back down to earth." She explained.
"Yeh well thanks I guess."
"No problem. I wonder who's getting married. It sounds so romantic doesn't it."
"No not really. It seems like a really dumb idea.To be honest the whole idea of this League is dumb. It's not even that hard like Leagues are supposed to be. They just basically let anybody in. They should have at least put all the gym leaders through a entrence test too. There are too many of them and it is such a drag."
"I really dont feel the same way but if it makes you feel better i did hear that they have decided to take a few people out even if they win. The judges have to decide on your talent and if they approve then you go through. Also alot of people are already dropping out due to stress."
"Wow thats great. It means this tornament won't go too slowly as i originally thought it would have."
"I know you'll win."
"Thanks Lil and im sure you'll come close to the top."
"Thats nice to hear. Though i never entered this competition. I entered to show my ... mother that i was capable of holding myself up and that i could be independent."
"Thats a great reason. I came to..." I paused. I didn't want to directly lie to Lillie but I didn't feel like telling her the whole story so I bent the truth slightly. " I came for the same reason as you really except I'm mainly doing it for myself. I need to prove to myself that I am stronger than them .. I mean how i used to be."
"Sounds like a good moral compass to me."
All of a sudden Oak, Delia, Pikachu and the rest of their gang ran in through the door. I crossed my arms in rage. "Great just what I need." I whispered under my breath. For some reason Oak decided to come up to me.
"Hello my boy. I have heard all about you. What amazing talent you have." He greeted as he vigerously shook my hand.
"Um thanks. Professor Oak." I replied. I didn't know how to react. I wasn't sure whether he was involved with what happened 4 years ago or not so I gave him the benefit of the doubt.
