Chapter 7 - Alola

The next day

For the first time in a year i had woken up naturally without an alarm. Eventhough my body was a customed to wake up at 6AM, it was still extremely pleasant to not be forced awake for once by an extremely annoying noise. "Hey lucario, would you like a lie in today?" I asked. "Our plane doesn't leave till 4PM." Instantly lucario shouted "(YES PLEASE MELI !)" I smiled. I knew what the answer would be so why did i even ask. I decided to get up. I got dressed into a blue and white striped t-shirt and grey shorts. I slipped on some blue flipflops and whacked on a red and white hat. After that i went to explore Alola. I hadnt had a chance to before due to my non-stop training. I quietly went out of my room and ran down to the reception. I was met with the same sliding glass doors i had entered when i joined Team Rocket a year before. As i walked through  the doors i was hit with a hot whoosh of air. It didnt bother me because i had been used to intense training in it. It was nice to be able to enjoy it for once. I tried to grab my phone for a map of the island but i rememebered i left it in my room. " Oh nevermind, its only a small island." I thought.

For the next few hours i walked around the island discovering  the things i had learnt about in training like saying 'Alola' to greet people and about my new identities home town. I glanced at my watch. It was 9AM . I was hungry so i made the dicision to make my way back to the team rocket base. As i jogged through the town of Hau'li, i noticed two men laughing at a small girl crying. I quickly ran over to them to see what thay were doing to the poor child. " Oy! What's going on ?" I shouted. As i drew closer i saw they were wearing a black and white vest with black knee lengthshorts and white boots. The also wore a black and while cloth covering their mouuth and a white hat which had black eye-like shapes on them. Team skull. I had heard about them in training and had almost been captured by them on my last plane ride.. They were a rival of Team Rocket but they were very small and not very powerful. They hadn't even branched out into other regions yet. They both looked at me and said "Oh hey little kid . You think you're such a big shot do you? " I ignored their remark and knelt down to the still crying little girl. " What happened?" I asked softly. "The...they stole m...my brothers pokemon from me." She sniffled. I turned and glared them straight in the eyes but they only percieded to laugh more. " Give them back to her right now or you will be sorry." I  demanded. Their mood quickly changed to be more serious and hateful. " Why don't you give us your pokemon." They barked. I looked at them in discust. " I don't have any." I shrugged. What i said was partly true. I saw lucario as a friend, not my pokemon but as i had his ball he technically belonged to me. " Oh well then you cant stop us." They taunted as they pressed the middle button of their pokeballs. Two Alolan meowths came out. "(Help us, we hate our owners, they are so cruel.)" Both of the meowths cried. " Huh? I thought i could only understand lucario" I whispered. "Whats that . You scared kid?" They mocked. Suddenly, I launched myself at both meowth. They both toppled over and i pinned them down. "Stop struggling. Pretend to be unable to battle. I'm here to save you." I promised quietly in their ear. They immediatley stopped squirming and pretended to be unable to battle. The grunts gasped in horror and tried to grab their pokeballs to return then but before they could, i ran towards them and snatched them from them. I put both pokeballs under my feet and smashed them. " You're free now." I declared." Now, give this poor child back her pokemon." Without a moments hesitation they threw her balls at me and ran for it. " Here you go sweetie." I smiled and handed her pokeballs. "Th...Thank you mister." She smiled back "Wha...Whats your name?" I paused wondering whether i should reveal my identity. I eventually decided to because the place where we were was my home town after all." My name is meliodas." I answered. "Great! I'm going to tell the whole town that you saved my pokemon!" She yelled while running towards a house in the horizon. My gaze went to the two meowths sat on the floor." Come with me. I have a good place for you." I ran towards the team rocket base . As i got to the reception i said " Don't worry, they will take care of you, i promise." to the meowths. I quickly wrote a note saying:

Dear Giovanni , please put these in the pokemon enclosure. Signed Meliodas.

I gave the pokemon the note to hold onto and brought them to the reception desk. " Take them to Giovanni." I ordered. "Yes sir." The receptionist agreed with a small amout of fear in her voice.I checked my watch. It was 9:57AM. I was disapointed because the breakfast bar would be closed in a few minutes. "Oh well. I'll just eat on the plane." I knew from then on that I would only steal Pokémon who needed saving but I wouldn't care for which humans I would capture .

I ran up to my room and saw that lucario was still sleeping. " Hey buddy, time to get up." I whispered. He slowly opened his eyes "(Ugh, fine.)" He murmered. After that we both started getting ready. By the time it was 1pm we had completely packed and were headed off for the airport. The next hour was a drag. Once we got through customs, we explored the duty free shops for an hour untill we were called for the plane. As we boarded the plane a slight fear struck me. The last time i had been on a plane, Meliodas had died. I shook it off and we took our seats. "Now you get to see where the old me was from." I looked out the window and sighed. Here we go...
