Dream

Fire surrounded me. "Daddy!" I screamed. I frantically searched around the forest. Dead pokemon and humans were scattered everwhere around the burning forest. I finally found someone lying on the ground whom I recognised to be 'Daddy'. He was still and made no movement. I slowly walked towards him. He wasn't human. Without hesitation I grabbed him by the shoulders and shook him. "Daddy wake up!" I cried. I burst into tears realising that he wasn't going to wake up. I held him tight . Suddenly, I heard running footsteps towards my directions. I could tell that they were human so I shapeshifted into one. My father had taught me not to trust human strangers but I had never seen the harm in them until that day.

"Little boy?" A soft voice spoke. "We are going to help you okay?"

I said nothing and held my father tighter. I felt myself being picked up. I started screaming and thrashing about to be put down. They were taking me away from my father.

"Quickly get him to calm down."

I felt a sharp jab in my shoulder and everything bagan to blur.

I woke with a start. I was in an unfamiliar place. It looked like a human child's bedroom. There were posters of pokemon everywhere. I sat up on the high bed I was on and jumped  down the wooden ladder. The floor was a blue material I didn't recognise. The walls were light green. There were lots of objects which i didn't understand around me. Everything was so big, or was it that I was just so small? I didn't have enough time to worry about it. I had to get out to find Father, then I remembered. He was dead. The humans had murdered him without mercy. I dug my nails into my hand in anger. Father had always told me not to trust humans yet I never listened. I knew it was my fault Father was gone. I must have been followed by the humans after playing with their children. I couldn't understand why I was blaming myself. It was the humans but I still couldn't help feeling resposible. It was the humans. I grew even more angry the more I thought about them. I was about to explode but then I remembered what Father had always said. He told me not to use my powers ever, no matter the situation. I began to cry. I didn't know where I was and I was completely alone in the world. All of my pack had been brutally murdered. I had no one else to go to. I knew I had been captured by the humans so I decided then that I would let them kill me. I curled up into a ball on the floor.

After I waited for what felt like hours, a tall human lady tiptoed into the room. I flung myself to the far wall and growled at her. She knelt down to my hight. I saw kindness in her eyes but it had to be fake. All humans were horrid creatures.

"Hey it's okay." She assured in the softest voice I had ever heard. "I'm not going to hurt you little one."

I couldn't speak human, even though I could understand it, so I was unable to reply. She leaned towards me then wrapped her arms around me. I panicked and started wriggling but soon realised that no harm was done to me and sat still.

"This is called a hug. It feels nice doesn't it."

It did feel nice. It felt really nice. It was never something I had never experienced before. I nodded.

"This is where you're going to live for now on okay. I'm going to protect you. I will be your mum."

A mum. I'd never had a mum before.
