Trial and thanksgiving

It's been a few weeks now since the announcement of our engagement in Stars Hollow. The impending trial is in a just a few short days. As the days pass by I get more and more restless. I'm starting to have nightmares again and tonight is no different. I know I need to talk to the group as they're going to find out in court one incident that I didn't tell them about. I toss and turn in bed and suddenly I jolt up, fear coursing through my body. I untangle myself from Finn and go downstairs. I walk to my safe, spin the dial to open it and grab out the file that it holds. I sit at the kitchen counter drinking a coffee and crying. I'm reliving the pain and it'll be worse when I go to court.

" Love?" Finn says sleepily

" Yeah" I say sadly

"What's wrong?" Finn ask worriedly as he sits down in a chair beside me.

"Thinking about the trial" I say sadly

"What about it love?" Finn asks concerned

"There are some things or should I say two incidents that you guys don't know about." I say with fear lacing my voice

"What do you mean love?" Finn asks while gently caressing my leg

"One of the incidents I don't remember and the other happened in college my first year" I tell him sadly not realising that the others are waking in and joining us.

"Mare, what are you talking about?" I whip my head around to look at Tristan with concern etched on his face.

"This file contains the details of the incidents" I pause and take a deep breath

"Remember when I was with MIA one weekend of my freshman year?" I ask. At this point Finn got Colin, Steph and Paris up.

"Yeah" Paris says

"I was in the hospital" I tell them scared

"What?!" They all say

"Why didn't you tell us?" Steph asks somewhat hurt

"It wasn't only dean there that hurt me" I tell them with hurt in my voice

"What do you mean?" Colin asks

"Do you remember Jess Luke's nephew?" I ask

"Yes" they all reply

"Dean was forcefully shaking me and I don't know if Jess did it on purpose or not but he grabbed me from Dean and I fell and hit my head" I tell them sadly

"Why didn't you say anything?" Tristan asks

"I was so scared and tired of this happening, the only one who knows is Luke" I tell them

"What about the other incident?" Finn asks trying to find out more information.

"That one I don't know the details by memory, I only have a police and hospital report grandpa asked me about it yesterday I didn't even know about it till now. What other memory loss do I have?" I say trying to hold back the tears but unable to do so.

"We love and care for you and we're not going anywhere" Paris says firmly

"Can't get rid of us that easily" Colin jokes making us laugh

"We're family" Tristan says softly

"Love nothing can break our bond and we'll always be here for you" Finn says sweetly as he wraps his arms around me.

"Let's go to bed ok?" Paris says calm and softly and we all went to bed. We spent the rest of the day in the house just relaxing because tomorrow is the trial. The night felt long to me as I woke up the next morning. Thanksgiving was only a week away. As I sat at the counter staring into my cup of coffee, I wonder what will happen. Tristan comes in and wraps me up in a hug
