The life I was destined for

A surprise

A month had passed and it was now May. We're all getting ready to take our exams and graduate and go onto the next chapter of our lives. I'm over three months pregnant now and I'm showing. I'm going to meet the PI today for brunch and see if he found anything out. I head downstairs to grab my purse and keys and head out, when Tristan stops me.

"Hey Mare?" He asks me nervously.

"Yeah Tris." I ask him.

"Can I come?" he asks hesitantly. I look over at Tris and grab his hand and drag him out with me.

"You don't have to ask, by the way after my meeting with him I have a appointment with my doctor Finn will meet me there. Want to see your niece or nephew?" I ask him while I start the car.

"I'd love to." Tris says happily and we make it to the cafe for brunch. The PI arrives shortly after we do. He said all I need to know was in the envelope and he was continuing to look for the social worker, he has some leads and he's following them. We ate a nice brunch and made it to my doctors with minutes to spare. I sign in and take a seat next to Finn and Tristan. Shortly after.

"Mrs. Morgan." The nurse calls and we all head through the door. They do the usual weight and blood pressure checks and are escorted into the room.

"Mate you excited to see the little one?" Finn asks Tristan excitedly.

"Yeah I really am he or she is going to be spoiled." Tristan says laughing.

"Don't forget we have dinner with the family tonight." I say to them. Before they can answer there's a knock on the door and the doctor enters.

"Hi Dr Grey." I say happily.

"Hi Rory, Finn, Tristan." She greets us smiling. She takes a seat next to me and starts the machine and puts gel on my stomach.

"I'm going to do some measurements then I'll turn the screen around to show you." She says. We nod and she gets a funny expression on her face.

"If you'll excuse me a moment." She says standing up and walking out the door. I look at Finn with terror in my eyes. Finn and Tristan hold my hands tightly. Before they can say anything the doctor comes back in.

"This is my colleague Dr Jones." She says. Dr Jones was an older man maybe in his late fifties early sixties.

"Is something wrong with my baby?" I say as I start tearing up.

"You see that right?" She asked the other doctor and he nods.

"Please for the love of god what's wrong with my sister's baby." Tristan says angrily.

"Nothings wrong with your babies." She says smirking.

"What?" I ask shocked.

"It seems one baby was hiding behind the other. Congratulations your having twins." She says and that's what did it and here comes the waterworks. I look over at Finn and Tristan and they also have tears running down their cheeks too. The doctor turns a dial on the machine and the room fills with the most beautiful sound.

"Is that the heartbeat?" Tristan asked in awe.

"Yeah it is." I say barely above a whisper.

"I printed you out some pictures make an appointment for four weeks and we should be able to tell the sex of the babies then." She says handing me a rag to clean up. I clean up and the guys help me off the table. Finn took the car service here so we were going to ride home together in my car.

"Love we're having twins." He says grinning from ear to ear.

"I know I was shocked at first but I'm happy, are you?" I asked nervously.

"I'm ecstatic." He says winking at me and we all get in the car and drive home.

"Don't say anything to anyone we're going to tell everyone tonight at dinner." I say and they nod agreeing with me. Once we get home I tell the guys I'm going to the office to look over what the PI gave me. I grab a cup of decaf coffee and head to the office, I sit down on the couch and open the envelope. There's a letter for my dad and I, a video recording, a signed affidavit of what went down, and proof of conversations with Lorelei. Apparently Sherry wasn't stupid after all she made sure she recorded everything and proof of everything that went down between her and Lorelei. I read her affidavit and when I'm through with that I look through all the pictures voice recordings and other things and it was all true. The lengths Lorelei went through to hide her secrets was astounding it still shocks me. As I continue to look through the paperwork my cell rings.

"Hello."......

"This is she.".......

"You can't be serious again.".......

"How the hell does this happen.".......

"Thank you bye."..... I say slamming my phone down. I walk out and head to the kitchen and make myself another cup of coffee, I can't believe this. How can it happen again. This is so unreal it's like a never ending circle. I want it to stop and hopefully one day it will.
