Hayden's POV:I turn around coming face to face with Brayden. His blue-green eyes were pouring into mine as he looked at me with astonishment.
"You know the bell rang, schools out and practice is gonna start," He says breaking the silence, and eye contact. It was only then that I had realized the bruise by his jaw. My eyes widen as I rush over and examine his face.
"What the heck happened?" I ask frantically.
"Nothing happened okay it's a bruise from...uh...football."
Gently I turn his head toward me making sure not to hurt him, forcing him to advert his gaze towards me.
"Tell me what happened," I say almost a whisper.
Brayden clears his throat, looking down at the floor before looking back up to me. "Your brother and I got into a fight."
The words hit me like a truck, and without another thought I grab his hand and start dragging him inside.
Brayden's POV:
Hayden begins pulling me me toward the building and curiosity begins to run throughout me.
"Hayden what's going on?" I question, but she simply ignores me. Her grip loosens from my wrist and moves down to my hand, my whole body stiffening. All I can do is stare down at my land that is enveloped with her's.
Her touch sent sparks throughout my body, not really understanding what was going on. This has never happened to me before. I mean surely she should be like a sister to me....
Right?
A few short minutes later we reach the medical classroom, a questioned look appeared on my face.
"What are we doing here, isn't the door locked?" She ignores me again and reaches in her bag whipping out a pair of keys opening the door swiftly.
Grabbing me by the hand she forcefully pulls me into the classroom then abruptly stops, putting her hands on my shoulders guiding me to sit down. From her facial expression you could tell she was deep in thought. Hayden grabs the keys and begins to unlock the cabinets.
"Hayden how did you get the key-" she cuts me in mid sentence, her voice cold and stern.
"Just shut up and let me take care of you!" She shouts, causing me to go silent. She blinks a few times, most likely suprised by her sudden boldness, as am I and takes a deep breath before continuing.
"I'm sorry I just...bad day I guess" her voice trails off as she is now positioned standing in between my legs cleaning the small cut above my eyebrow.
"What are you sorry for?" I ask with a small scoff. She had done nothing wrong, why on earth would she be apologizing.
"For yelling, for causing this-"
"Hey stop right there, you did nothing wrong okay. Stop beating yourself up, if anything you should feel proud. You saved your brother from getting kicked out of fucking school." Hayden's stern face soon relaxes as she takes a deep breath. She nods her head before holding an ice pack up to my face. She is still deep in thought, and I can't get over the feeling that something happened today that she's not telling me.
My phone vibrates and I pull it out of my pocket before reading the message.
RYAN:
BRO WHERE RU, YOU MISSED THE MEETING WE R IN THE LR.I sigh before reading the text out loud to Hayden.
"So you guys are good?" She asks hopeful.
