Brayden's POV:
I plop myself down on the couch, wiping the sweat off that had formed on my forehead. I take a look around the house and its pretty clean. I mean there's still things that I could do, but honestly I'm so fucking tired.
The kitchen was picked up, the living room was put back into place, and the trash was picked up from the backyard. To be honest, I don't really know why I decided to start cleaning, I guess I just didn't want Hayden to have to do all of it by herself, I mean, it wasn't even her party for fucks sake.
Scrolling through my phone, people were already posting picures from tonight's party. One of them consisted of two guys posing for the camera, as they hold Ryan's feet as he chugs alcohol from a keg stand.
I roll my eyes as previous events from earlier replay in my head.
***
I feel my jaw begin to clench as I rush over there nocking the people holding his feet out of the way causing Ryan to fall to the ground with a thud. He rolls over onto his back and begins to laugh drunkly.
I sigh pinching the bridge if my nose before grabbing his arm, pulling him up to stand up, and then begin dragging him inside to his bedroom.
"I'm not drunk," Ryan groans at me as he collapses on his bed, pulling the sheets over him.
"Yeah no shit. Stay here, get some sleep, and I'll get you in the morning," I shoot back harshly.
"I'm surprised your not yelling at me."
"Trust me, I'm saving it for tomorrow, when you'll actually remember it." I scold before exiting the room furious.
"Please don't tell Hayden," Ryan says softly causing my to stop in my tracks before shaking my head and slamming the door shut.
He said he wouldn't do this, No.
He promised me he wouldn't do this, I cannot believe I always have to save his-
"Oh my god I'm so sorry," A sweet voice says from below me-
Wait I know that voice.
I look down to see Hayden on the ground, her cheeks rosy pink. Catching a glimpse of her outfit I smile. She was wearing a pair of high-waisted denim shorts, as well as a tank top. The straps of her bikini top peaking out, as her hair falls down her back into soft waves.
****
I smile to myself as I remembered Hayden's flustered state, I look down at my hand and remember how perfectly her hand fit with mine. I feel my fingertips begin to tingle and my heartrate increases thinking about how close her body was to mine.
Shaking my head with a scoff I check my phone for the time, 3:45.
No wonder my brain is making up all these weird feelings that aren't real.
Standing up from the couch, I make my way out back, taking my shirt off during the process.
Jumping into the pool I let the cold water envelope me.
There was something so freeing about resting at the bottom of the pool. It's almost as if time has stopped, no sound, no worries, no feelings, no drunk friends, only movement.
Coming up for air I run my fingers through my hair as I hear the sound of a door open and pretty soon footsteps apear next to me.
"Hey," a voice says that I can easily recognize.
"Hey," I reply turning around glancing Hayden over. She was wearing the exact same thing she wore durring the party.
"Did you do that," She points in the direction of the house.
"Uh yeah I did," I feel myself rubing the back of my neck, something that I only do when I'm nervous... WHY AM I NERVOUS?!?
"Why?"
"Well, to be honest I don't really know. I guess I just didn't think it was right that you had to do all of this by yourself. I mean lets be real, did you even go into the water at all?"
She raises an eyebrow before answering," Umm, no, uh I guess I didn't."
"Well what are you waiting for? Come on jump in."
"I don't think that's a good idea, I'll just-"
"When was the last time you let loose for once?" I ask cutting her off. I don't really know why I'm pushing her to get in the water but before I knew it, Hayden was pullying down her shorts. My eyes roam her body as she slides her shirt over her head. Her tall figure captures my gaze, and I couldn't help but stare, as she takes her hair out of her bun, letting it fall freely down her back.
When she turns back around, I quickly look away, staring down at the water, before I hear a splash and then before I knew it there she was in front of me.
