Brayden's POV:I walk into the house, and the party was in full swing. Pushing through the crowd of people I make my way to the living room, where a bunch of people are circled around Mr. Thompson as he, what I am assuming, was finishing his speech.
"Cheers to the new season, let's take home the championship title once again!" He yells causing a bunch of people to jump up and down yelling and cheering joyfully. The football team is at the front of the circle making even more noise than the crowd. Mr. Thompson and his wife push their way through the people and making their way over to me.
"Brayden thank goodness your here," Mrs. Thompson starts.
"Look I have a feeling things are gonna get hectic, and quite frankly I do not want to be here for that so-"
"So you and Hayden are in charge, you know where everything is, call us if there is any problems." Mr. Thompson finishes, yelling over the music. I can feel my mouth drop as they turn around, making their way toward the door. I can't believe they were leaving.
After a few steps they both halt and turn back around.
"Oh and were not going to be back until Sunday." Mrs. Thompson says with a small smile, before disappearing into the crowd of people.
Turning around I take in the scene before me. To the right of the kitchen a batch of freshman stood, eyes wide as they watch girls walk past in little to no clothing making their way to the pool out back. Outback was the rest of the varsity team, flirting and dancing.
My eyes begin to scan the room but soon gets interrupted when a hand wraps around my bicep.
"Hey babe," Kaitlyn says as she bats her eyes at me. I mentally cringe as I look down to see what she was wearing. A triangle bikini top and the smallest shorts I think I've ever seen. It almost makes me question if she took it from her 6 year old sisters closet.
You see that's the thing I hate, how the girls prance around showing off too much, not wearing enough. It comes off slutty and it's almost like they have no respect for themselves.
"Don't call me that, we're not dating," I say abruptly shaking away from her grasp.
Hurt flashes through her eyes, but soon goes away as she moves even closer her hand on my chest.
"Well maybe we could be, I mean I know you like me." She bites her lip attempting to look... honestly I don't even know what she was going for, but lets just say it made me cringe like crazy.
Like on cue, Matt comes in to save the day, wrapping an arm around my shoulder, pulling me away form her hold.
"Sorry but imma have to steal him for a minute," He says while pulling me away turning our backs to her as we begin to walk to the backyard.
"Thanks man," I breath out.
"You owe me, I was hitting it off with a chick but no, I had to save your ass." He shoots me a playful glare and I begin to laugh.
"Lucky for you, you have a whole line waiting for you," I say pointing toward a group of girls smile and waving towards us. By now we were both laughing.
"Hey man where's Ryan," I ask, finally calming myself down.
"Whaaattt um uh I don't know," he says breaking eye contact, scratching the back of his neck.
"Matt," I utter, dragging out his name for effect.
"Fine, he's over there." I turn to where he's pointing only to find Ryan on the other side of the backyard upside down in a handstand, on top of a keg stand as people huddle around him shouting at him to chug.
