Hayden's POV:
Walking into the cafeteria with Avery and Chloe by my side we sit at a long table in the middle of the room. A few short minutes later the boys began to show up, with Brayden sitting to my left, and Ryan next to him. Avery and Chloe sat in front of me leaving all the seats to my right open.
"So it's game day are you excited," Avery chirped at my brother her face resting on her hand batting her eyelashes flirtatiously.
"Hell yeah the team sucks so it should be an easy dub, will we see you there?" Ryan narrows his eyes matching her flirtatious energy.
A slight blush creeps onto Avery's face before clearing her throat and responding.
"Yeah the whole gang: me, Chloe, Hayden-"
"Oh actually," I interject, "I'm not gonna be able to go tonight."
"Why the hell not?" Boyd says sitting besides Chloe.
All eyes were on me awaiting for my response, and for some reason all the attention was making me nervous so I did what any reasonable teen would do. I began stabbing my salad with my fork and rambled.
"Well I promised Chris I would watch his game tonight," I said with my head down staring at my salad.
"Speaking of Chris," Chloe huffs.
We all turn around to see a tall hair bright eyed familiar face walking toward us.
"Hey Hayden, just wanted to know if you were still going to the game tonight."
Boyd, Brayden, and Ryan all scoff simultaneously which earns then a glair from me.
"Yeah actually I was filling the boys in on the schedule."
"Great well I'm excited your going, see you later," he gave me a quick wink with a side of a sly smile before turning around leaving the table.
Avery squeals causing a few glances to turn our way.
"Oh my god he totally likes you!"
Chloe chuckles, while Ryan rolls his eyes, "finally my sister is getting some."
Brayden scoffs again his knuckles turning white as he begins stabbing his salad with his fork. Geez
what's his problem.Seeing his food makes me realize I have barely eaten. Looking down my eyes widen as my salad is no longer in front of me but in Brayden's hands.
"Ahhh murderer," I yell ripping my salad out of his hands.
He looks at me and the side of his mouth begins to twitch as he is fighting a smile, so I decide to keep going.
"How could you, they were to young to die," I say getting up and walking to the trash am and begin forming a funeral ceremony.
The table erupts into a laughing fit and Chloe wipes some fake tears from her eyes.
Brayden gets up slinging his bag over one of his broad and defined shoulders before picking up my own and waking toward me.
"You're so weird you know that right?" He said in between laughs trying to calm down.I place my hands on my chest acting like I had just been shot.
"Ouch that hurt, but hey it was worth it, it got you to smile."
The bell rings and he slings his arm over my shoulders and walks us out to the cafeteria.
"Whatever you say weirdo."
