Hayden's POV:

It's now Thursday, the night of the homecoming game and to say I'm excited is an understatement. As an update, Brayden has been giving me the cold shoulder and I don't know why. He views me as a little sister, and I get that he doesn't like Chris but what does that have to do with me?

I walk into Pre-Calc and take my usual seat, in the back. Brayden had not arrived yet so I take this time to gather my things and place them on my desk. Looking back at the board I write down the problems until I hear someone shuffle from behind me.

Whipping around I make eye contact with the one and only, my heart starts to race and I don't really understand why.

His eyes roamed my face and I mimic his actions.

Sometimes when I'm with him it feels as if we are in our own separate world-

"Alright class take out a piece of paper and start doing the problems listed on the board." His words took me directly out of any trance I was in.

I turned myself back around and began working on the problems.

————————

Football had always played a big part in my family, so the homecoming game was no different, infact even bigger. The game started at 7 and right now it's 4:00 and the whole team is over at the Thompson household for a pregame hangout. We were all suppose to leave my house to go to the game in 30 minutes. At this moment, Avery and Chloe were over at my house and we were getting decked out for the black out tonight. I was dressed in black spandex volleyball shorts with my brothers black football jersey on. I put black handprints all down my legs and put black dots above my left eyebrow, trailing it down under my right eye. Chloe and Avery were dressed the exact same, only instead of jerseys they wore our black volleyball practice shirts.

I curled a few pieces of hair giving it a beachy loose curl look and begin braiding Avery's hair for her.

Within ten minutes we were all done getting ready and head downstairs to where the boys were sitting down on the couch. The boys all looked up at us at practically the same time giving us a glance over then advert their attention back to the tv screen. Avery and Chloe make their way ove to the couch, most likely to flirt with some of the boys, but me on the other hand I do not.

Instead I turn and head into the kitchen, out of the corner of my eye I notice Brayden eyes following my every move.

I open the cabinet and reach up for cup on the top shelf, but another hand beats me to it. Strong and muscular, his cologne gives him away. Though instead of turning around to the culprit, I stick my ground. I feel his abs push against my back as he leans up taking the cup in his hand than slowly proceeds to bring it down, dragging it along my arm that was resting on the shelf. Goosebumps arise on my arm and my heart rate increases. I could feel how close he was, and my mind began to panic, legs feeling as if they were going to give out, he moved closer.

It was a fight or flight situation, so I did what any rational girl would do. Spinning around I reach to grab the cup but get captivated by his eyes instead. His green orbs had a hint of hazel around the iris, and his eyes were slightly dilated. I was backed up against the counter, his arms on either side caging me in the kind of intoxication that I like to call Brayden Haze.

His last named fits him perfectly for he was a haze himself, consuming my thoughts, confusing my emotions.

Time had no limit, did not exist. His movements were slow as he leaned in captivating me by every inch, and this time, I don't think I'm going to pull away.

His nose brushes against my own and my body flairs. Heat creeps up my neck and it feels as if I cannot breathe.

He moves closer his lips skimming the skin upon my cheek, to my ear, and down my neck. His moves were slow and torturous, and I felt myself get increasingly more impatient.

His hooded eyes dart down to my lips, and they don't advert. He licks his own, and that's when my eyes impulsively close.

It's going to happen, Brayden is going to kiss-

"Hayden, he Chris is here," Ryan shouts over the sound of the doorbell.

My eyes instinctively open, anticipating Brayden to no longer be there, to feel cold without him so close.
Though I was surprised when I found he moved  closer, his lips against my ear, "If only you're little boyfriend wasn't here," He says slowly, huskily, and hungrily nipping my ear.

Seven words, seven words came out of his mouth, only seven words it took to leave me completely speechless as I watch him exit the kitchen in one fluid motion, my body becoming the cold I anticipated, missing his closeness and comfort his body provided.

---------------------------

The score was 42-7 with 30 seconds left on the clock in the fourth quarter. We were demolishing Seminole Creek, and the crowd was crazy. Hooting and hollering, the atmosphere was amazing. These were the moments I lived for, late nights, the people I love coming together cheering for a common goal, football, I was in true bliss.

Chris was getting a little touchy, constantly having his hands all over me, whether it was my waist or my thighs. I don't know how I feel about it, mostly because I don't know what we were. He asked me to homecoming and the last time I checked I checked that wasn't a contract to dating.

I made a mental note to ask him later, not now, now I was too happy to let anything ruin it.

I was too caught up in my thoughts to notice that the game was now over which meant only one thing.

The afterparty.

Surprisingly it wasn't at my house this time, but instead at someone named Reed. Chris had informed me earlier that he would not be able to come, something about his sister I don't know.

If I was being completely honest I was fine with it, to me it meant less time to get man handled.

Avery, Chloe and I headed back to the house to get changed into some more appropriate attire. I washed all the paint off of me and smoked out my eyeshadow, something I did rarely. Looking in the mirror I was rather pleased. The brown/black eyeshadow made my blue eyes pop, and I applied a slightly tinted red lipstick on, making my full lips stand out in the crowd. As for the outfit I didn't feel like myself that's for sure, Avery had convinced me to wear one of her tight black dresses.

Staring at my appearance I couldn't even recognize myself, though at the same thing I wasn't sure if it was a bad thing.

-----------------------

The music was loud and the intoxication level of everyone here was rather disturbing. Chloe and Avery had left me for god know what and I was left to fend for myself amongst a group of horny animals... fantastic.

I spent 5 minutes looking someone I knew but it was no use, pulling out my phone a text message pops up on my screen.

From: Brayden
Meet me in 10 minutes at the place where you finally were able to let loose for once.

I racked my brain going through all of the possibilities he could mean, but then it hit me...

The pool.
