*1983* George had just come home from a long tour. He was tired, but promised Olivia, his wife, he'd pick Dhani  up from school. He sat in his blue family car waiting. Dhani came running to the car with a short, black haired girl following him. "Hey dad, this is Luna. Can she come home with us? She doesn't have anywhere to go." Dhani spewed out. "Dhani, I have somewhere to go. I'll sleep in the dumpster again. Its not a big deal." The child Dhani identified as Luna spoke in a hushed tone. "Of course she can come home with us Dhani." "Yay!" Dhani squealed as he hopped in the back seat. Luna carefully slid in. She didn't want to mess up Mr. Harrison's nice car. Luna remained quiet the entire ride back to the Harrison house. She had been there a couple times before, but never when Dhani's dad was home. They walked in the house and George shut the door behind them. "Mom! Come here!" Dhani called. Olivia entered the living room, wiping her hands on her pants. "Luna, how wonderful to see you again." Olivia wanted to adopt this child terribly bad. She felt bad for her and wanted the best for her. "Its nice to see you too, Miss Olivia." "Why don't you guys go upstairs and do your homework?" George needed to talk to Olivia badly. "Okay." The kids walked up the stairs and once George heard the door slammed shut they walked into the kitchen. Ringo was sitting on the counter, Barbara on a chair next to him. "Hey Rings. Hello Barbara." They both nodded their heads as an answer. "George, we have to do something for Luna. We can't let her live the way she does." Olivia was talking in a normal voice, but George knew she was worried. "I know, we could take her in. Dhani gets along with her greatly. Rich and Barbara can do something to help us sway Luna. They'll enjoy watching two kids instead of just one. Right?" "Of course Georgie." Ringo smiled. "I'll go get them." Olivia walked away and returned with both children. "Luna, I'd like you to meet my best mate, Rich and his wife, Barbara." George figured he should introduce the strangers in the room first. "Hi." Luna shyly waved at them. "Hi. I'm Rich." Ringo smiled at the child. "I'm Barbara." They both smiled warmly at her. "Luna, we wanted to ask you if you'd like to be a part of our family? Don't think of you being a burden on us because you aren't. What do you say?" Unlike most children, Luna took a minute before answering. "Do uncle Rich and aunt Barbara come round a lot?" "Depends on the day." "Okay, I would like to join your family." "We're brother and sister now!" Dhani looked like he had been holding his excitement in for a long time. "Yay!" The kids took off upstairs. Ringo and Barbara couldn't help but laugh. "You did the right thing by letting her decide. I'm proud of you Geo." "Thanks Richard."
