*2001 Halloween* Two little children made a plan to wake their father up from his nap. The little girl, Danielle, is nine and her brother, Micah, is ten. The children try not to giggle as the creep up to the couch. Their father, Maurice, is rarely home due to his band's touring commitments, so the kids relish in the fact that they get to spend Halloween with their dad. "Now!" Micah shouted as the two of them leapt on to their dad. "Oh lordy." Maurice chuckled as he tickled his two children. "Daddy stop!" Danielle squealed in laughter. "What's that?" Her father continued to laugh. "Dad, we have to get to uncle Barry's or we'll be late." Micah groaned. "Oh yeah." Maurice set his kids down and they got in the car. The twenty minute ride was filled with laughter from the kids and the occasional song from their father. Maurice knocked on the door and his brother answered. "Mo! You made it. Come on in. Hi Danielle, Micah." "Hi Uncle Barry!" Danielle made a motion and Barry picked her up. Micah grabbed his uncle's hand as they went into the kitchen. "You guys stay here with aunt Linda and we'll go trick or treating in a few minutes." "Okay." The kids ate the Halloween cookies offered by their aunt as their father disappeared with Barry. "Morris, I can see it in your face. What's bothering you?" Barry sat in a chair. His brother stood by the fireplace. "I just can't believe that Robin and Amber would do this to me and the kids. How the fuck am I supposed to explain to them that the reason Mommy isn't around is because she is with uncle Robin now." "Cool your jets Morris. One thing at a time. First, we have to deal with you. I'm proud that you haven't started drinking again, but we need to keep it that way. Then, we'll take care of Danielle and Micah." "Thank you Barry for everything. You and Linda have been a great help since all this shit started. Let's go and make the kids happy." Morris smiled as they walked into the kitchen. "Alright Aquaman and pink power ranger let's go before all the good candy is gone." "Don't stay out too late." Linda chimed as they headed for the door. "We won't love you." Barry called back. It was an abnormally quiet night for the Gibb brothers. They were hardly recongized and that was a blessing for Morris. He was getting real tired of people asking the same damn questions. "Daddy?" Danielle groaned. "Yes my dear?" "Can you carry my candy bag? It's too heavy." "Okay." Morris handed the bag of candy to Barry and picked Danielle up. The child fell asleep in his arms. "Do you mind if we stay at your place tonight Ber?" "Of course Mo. Linda had the room set up for the kids. You going to take the couch again?" "Yeah." They walked into the house and Morris headed upstairs with his sleeping daughter. Barry followed behind, carrying a sleeping Micah. Barry put his nephew in bed and left. Maurice tucked both his children in and sat in the chair. "You know I love you both so much. You mean more to daddy than anything in this whole fucking world and I know in a couple weeks some shit is going to come out and I want you both to know that it'll all be okay. We'll get through this and no matter what I always love you." He kissed their foreheads and made sure to plug the nightlight in before he went downstairs. A blanket was folded up on the couch and Morris chuckled to himself. Linda and Barry truly were his saving grace during all this shit. He laid on the couch and pulled the blanket around himself. Soon, he was asleep. Danielle woke up and ran to the first door on the left, crying her eyes out. Barry turned on the light on the nightstand. He picked Danielle up and hugged her. "What's wrong little one?" Barry had seen Maurice comfort Danielle, so he tried to pull it off. "I had a bad dream! Where's my daddy?!?" Danielle screamed. "He's on the couch downstairs. You want me to take you to him?" The frightened child nodded her head yes. Barry carried her downstairs. She calmed a little at the sound of her father's snoring. "Mo?" Nothing but a snore. "Morris?" Still nothing. "Maurice Ernest Gibb you better get up." Slowly, he sat up. "What?" "Little one had a bad dream." "Okay. Take her into the kitchen. I'm coming." Barry walked into the kitchen and turned a light on. Maurice got up and went to comfort his daughter. Barry had gotten her a glass of warm milk and a cookie. "What happened sweetheart?" Morris sat next to his daughter. "It was the scariest dream I've ever had. Daddy don't leave with uncle Barry and uncle Robin. If you do, something bad will happen." Both brothers were gobsmacked. "I'll see you in the morning little one. I'm going to let aunt Linda know you're okay." "Night uncle Barry." Barry climbed the stairs.  "What do you mean sweetheart?" "Mom is mad at you and she'll try to hurt you. We need you and you need us." The little child yawned and her father picked her up. "Well, how about you sleep on the couch with me tonight? I'll keep the scary dreams away." Morris shut the light off and laid back on the couch. His daughter laid on his chest. "Good night daddy. I love you." "Good night sweetie. I love you too." They fell back asleep and things were peaceful for now.
