TOTGA - Wake Up Call

Nagising ako sa ring ng cellphone ko, "Damn, halos kakapikit ko lang ahh. Sino ba 'to?' Then I just answered it without looking at the sreen and it made me wide awake. "Edward John!" I cut her. "Laura, it is so early. Why do you need to shout?" And I cover my face with my blanket with eyes closed. Why she needs to shout, what's her problem? Geesh. "Excuse me, Edward John it is pass six in the morning here in Germany meaning it's already pass twelve in the afternoon in the Philippines." At napabalikwas ako ng bangon and try to look outside the window only to find out that sun is really up.

"What now, Laura?" Ang sakit ng ulo ko, damn Kaunti lang naman ang nainom ko kagabi pero dahil sa inumaga na ako sa pag-iisip ito ngayon ako. Idadgdag mo pa ang kapatid mong basta ka na lang sinisigawan ng hindi mo alam ang dahilan.

"You tell me what now, Edward! You sleepy head, fix yourself RIGHT NOW and let's facetime or else I will KILL YOU! Really!!!"

"And I mean it." She added in a calm tone but I can distinguish little bit of sadness. Ano na naman ang ginawa ko this time? Bago pa niya ako maunahan na tumawag ulit, I decided to have a quick shower.

"Laura, now tell me what is your problem for shouting like that a while ago?" Tanong ko sakanya. "I guess I should be the one asking you, brat! When is your plan to come home?"

"Is it all because your missing me huh?" I teased her. "Excuse me? Kung ako lang ang tatanungin mo gusto kitang pauwin para makurot kita at ng makita mo ang pinaggagawa mo. Have you even talked with Maymay?"

Dahil sa sinabi niya bigla ko naalala kung ano yung pinagpuyatan ko kagabi. "No, not yet."

"Oh, so you haven't talk to her and yet there's more articles spreading in social medias for other girl? Really, Edward it is Heaven again?" I can see annoyance in her face.

"OF COURSE NOT." I shouted. "Will you listen to me first, sister. Please will you?"

"Okay, okay." At naupo siya sa couch.

"By the way, na saan si Mom and Dad?" Tanong ko sakanya, kasi kanina pa niya ako tinatalakan pero di ko pa rin sila nakikita.

"They went out for a while at inutusan nga akong tawagan ka at kamustahin. I bet they saw the spreading articles with that bitch." Then she smirked.

"Laura." I warned her. "What? Now, your defending her huh?!" Inirapan ba naman ako. Hay naku nga naman pag nagkaroon ka ng kapatid na babae.

"Shall I say, it takes one to know one?" Sabay ngiti ko sakanya para mawala na ang init ng ulo niya. "Hindi mo ako madadaan sa ganyan, Edwardo!" Inirapan na naman ako. Napakamot na lang ako sa batok.

"Chill. Oo na, ito na pwede magexplain?" Biro ko pa rin sakanya.

"It is true na hindi ko pa nakakausap si Maymay. And I bet you knew already I got her number from Mom. I tried pero hindi siya ang nakasagot." Di ko napigilan ang mapabuntong hininga ng maalala na si Tanner ang may hawak ng cp niya.

"Tapos? What's with the deep sigh? So sino ang nakasagot?" Tanong naman niya.

"That was Tanner, I know you know him my big bro in PBB." Hindi ko alam pero wala man lang akong reaction na nakita sakanya. Parang lahat expected na niya.

"Yeah, your big bro and you biggest rival. And then?" She replied.

Nagulat ako sa sinabi niya pero Nagpatuloy ako sa pagexplain sakanya. "Hindi ko naman talaga alam na susunduin ako ni – "

At grabe ang bubo, hindi niya ako pinatapos sa sasabihin ko at sabay sabing "Oh please brother, wag mo babanggitin ang pangalan niya." Na may kasamang irap.

"Will you stop rolling your eyes? Baka mamaya hindi na bumalik yan sige ka." At tumawa ako para mawala na nga ang inis niya.

"Sige na ituloy mo na. Paano napunta at siya ang kasama mo sa red carpet? Si Marydale lang kasi dapat yun!" MayWard shipper, sabi ko na buhay na naman ang dugong Flyer ng kapatid ko.

"Honestly, wala naman akong plano. She didn't inform me about everything. Alam ko lang may reunion. Ayoko lang na pagtawanan siya ng ibang kasama namin sa room kaya pumayag na rin ako."

"Of course, the Gentleman Edward John Barber as always." She commented and I just sigh.

"Then yesterday, I went to Marco's place to unwind. Pero parang na stress ako lalo."

"Oh bakit naman? Tell me what happened?" She curious and worry at the same time.

"Kahapon ko lang nalaman yung about sa rumors and even sa mga articles. Pati yung picture namin sa airport. I was hoping Maymay will not believe whatever was written there."

"Di mo ba tinanong yung bruha na yun kung bakit may lumalabas na ganitong issue?" Tanong niya sa akin.

"Marco said even before I came here may mga speculations ng ganito. And you know me, hindi ako mahilig magbukas ng soc meds. Kaya clueless ako. Pero ang mali ko, I ignored the red flags. When I arrived here tinatanong na ako ni Marco, even other guests, kung kamusta kami ni Heaven pero inignore ko na lang instead of wasting my time asking her."

Tapos nagpatuloy ako, "Actually, I don't know what to do now since I just have limited time. At kung may time pa ba o huli na ako kay Maymay."

"You are like crazy, Edward. You've waited para magkausap kayo. Then now bigla guguho ang mundo mo. Cheer up bro!"

"Hindi sila ni Tanner, pero I guess the guy has a thing for her. Sinabi ko sakanya yun, pero hindi ko alam kung patay malisya lang ang soul sister ko." Pagkwento niya sa akin.

"So when was the last time you talked?" Tanong ko sakanya na parang biglang nagkaroon ng buhay.

"Just the other day, kaya di na ako nagtaka na si Tanner ang nakasagot sa tawag mo cause he fetched Maymay on that day."

"Have you.. Hmmmm..." Napakamot ako sa batok Damn how will I asked it to her.  But my sister is somekind a mind reader. Bigla siyang nagsalita na, "I asked her directly kung sino ba si Tanner sakanya she just said that they are just friends. And ever since they had photoshoot together nagkaroon na sila ng constant communication."

"But I am telling you bro, wag kang babagal-bagal. Sikat na model ang Maymay mo, she met and still meeting other men in the industry "outside" the Philipines. Also, just want you to know that she's now handling businesses and meeting bachelor business tycoons is not far. Make a move now or regret and forget everything."
