Chapter 20
When the final bell rang to end school I could have cried tears of joy. I was so tired and all I wanted to do was cuddle up with Cameron and maybe take a nice long nap in his arms. I hurriedly walked out to his car to try and find him. As soon as I saw him I couldn’t help but smile. I really had it bad for him.
I walked up to him and wrapped my arms around his neck and pulled him in for a slow kiss. This was so much better than when Taylor had kissed me in the past, there was real emotion and feeling here. Cameron was the perfect guy; the one the girls wanted in all of the books and movies.
He pulled my body closer to his so there was almost no room between us. “So babe , I hope you don’t mind but I invited a few other people over to hang out with us.”
I was extremely disappointed but I put on my best fake smile and said, “Sure that sounds like fun!”

An hour later I sat on Cam’s couch bored out of my mind. Cameron had invited over all of the “boys” and since I was the only girl there and I was taken they pretty much ignored me the whole time. I couldn’t help but wish that Taylor was here. At least he would have been focused on annoying me rather than ignoring me.
Even Cam was so wrapped up with his friends that he seemed to forget I was even there. All I wanted was a nap, but instead I got a bunch of rowdy teenage boys.
I got up and walked over to Cam, “Hey I’m going to head home, okay? I’ve got a big test tomorrow and I really need to study for it.”
His face dropped and he stuck his lips out in a pout, “Are you sure? We’re all having such a great time though!”
I quickly kissed him on the lips and then started to gather up my stuff, “No, I’m sure. I really need to study for this test or I’m going to bomb out of school.”
He rolled his eyes, “You’re so dramatic. I can’t drive you home with all the boys here right now, you sure you don’t want to hang around for a few more hours and then I can kick the guys out and help you study.” He waggled his eyebrows that told me he in no way had any intention of actually studying.
“I’m just going to walk, it’s not even that far. I’ll see you tomorrow ok?” I said heading out the door. I pulled out my headphones and put them in before he could say anything else. I didn’t mean to be such a downer and brood all afternoon but all I wanted was a nap, not a small party.
I don’t know who the hell I was trying to convince my house ‘wasn’t that far’ but I was clearly delusional. I wasn’t even half way there and I was about ready to pass out. I really needed to stop eating so many chips.
I was really getting into my song when a car honked behind me and scared the crap out of me. I turned around to see what the hell had happened, but I was creeped out to find the pulling up next to me.
I nervously took out my headphones and watched as the window rolled down. The window rolled down to reveal none other than Taylor Caniff.
“Should you be driving?” I asked skeptically. With his one arm in a cast, I wasn’t sure I trusted him behind the wheel of a large motor vehicle.
“Should you be walking?”
“What?”
He shook his head, “Never mind. Get in, I’ll give you a ride home.” No matter how much I didn’t trust Taylor’s driving capabilities it was better than having to walk the rest of the way home.
“Fine,” I reluctantly agreed and got in.
