We pulled up to the skate park and I would be lying if I said my heart rate hadn’t increased a little. I was nervous because I just didn’t know what to expect. On one hand there could be a lot of name calling and that could be it, or on the other hand they could all pull out guns and shoot each other. I just didn’t know.

We got out of the car and I saw Nash not too far off yelling at two guys who I assumed were Jack and Jack.

Taylor pushed past me and jogged up to Nash and instantly jumped in on the yelling. I was really hoping they were just going to call each other jerk faces and then walk away, but by the way Cameron was tensing up next to me I expected it to be far more worse than that.

He put his hand on my arm, “Look Carson, I really think you should wait in the car ok? These little situations never tend to end well.”

He didn’t give me a chance to respond as he jogged away to go catch up with Nash and Taylor. This was fucking bullshit why would they bring me along just to have me sit in the car? Oh well, I didn’t care I wasn’t going to listen anyway.

As soon as I got close enough to hear what was going on Nash threw the first punch and all hell broke loose. Next thing I knew Cameron was on the ground clutching his nose and Taylor was taking out the smaller of the two Jacks.

This clearly wasn’t going end well. I had no idea what to do, I wasn’t stupid enough to think I could get in the middle and break things up but I also couldn’t just stand on the sidelines and watch. This was one of those times where it was very frustrating being a girl.

“STOP!” I yelled. It really didn’t do much good but Taylor did turn around to look at me.

“Carson? What the –“ he was cut off when the taller Jack slugged him in the face causing him to lose his balance and crash onto the ground.

Taylor was lying there moaning when a rouge guy on a bicycle yelled, “Shit dude look out!” But Taylor didn’t have enough time to react before the guy ran over his forearm. The moaning instantly turned into a muffled scream as he clutched his arm in pain.

I instantly ran over to him, “Oh my God, Taylor are you ok? Oh my god. Oh my god. This isn’t good. That’s definitely broken.”

The dude on the bicycle hopped of his bike and got down on his knees next to Taylor, “Dude, I’m so sorry I was coming over to see what was happening and then next thing I know you were in front of me and there wasn’t time to stop.”

Taylor shook it off, “Don’t worry about it, I’m fine.”

“No you’re not,” I said, “We need to get you to a hospital.

He rolled his eyes, “Oh Carson, so dramatic it’s fine.”

Cam walked over holding his bleeding nose, “Tay, that’s broken. Come on lets go to the hospital.”

Nash stumbled over next. It was a quick fight but both sides had done a lot of damage to each other. “The Jacks took off, hopefully we won’t see them for a while,” he said. “Tay, dude, you’ve got to go to the hospital.

Taylor finally relented, “Fine. Whatever. But I better get a hot nurse or I’m out.”

Nash took off and went home and the bike dude left so it was just me, Cameron, and Taylor heading to the hospital. As we rolled up outside of the emergency doors Cam turned to Taylor, “I can’t go in, my mom’s on duty right now and she can’t know I’ve been in another fight.”

“Don’t worry about it, I’m fine,” Taylor said as he stumbled out the door.

“He keeps saying that but it ceases to be true,” I said. “I better go in with him to make sure he actually gets some help. I’ll see you tomorrow, ok?”

Cameron looked disappointed, but he nodded in understanding. I kissed him on the cheek before hopping out of the car and following Taylor in.
