I walked into art class the next day to see Taylor already there, waiting for me. He patted the seat next to him, telling me to sit there. I looked around hopelessly; there was nowhere else to sit. I sighed, accepting defeat and sat next to him.

“Hello, beautiful,” he said as I sat down.

I tried my very best to ignore him.

“Carson,” he said stating a fact.

I groaned. Great. Now he knew who I was. “Good job,” I sarcastically said.

“Yeah, I’m pretty proud. I’ve got connections.” He pretended to wipe dust off his shoulder.

“You mean Cameron told you,” I kept looking straight ahead, trying to avoid eye contact.

“No, I actually just stole the attendance sheet and looked before you got here,” he cockily added.

“What? Am I supposed to think you’re some sort of bad boy now?”

He leaned over and whispered into my ear, “That’s up to your own interpretation.” His breath sent shivers down my spine.

He saw what affect he had on me and smirked. I somehow managed to ignore him for the rest of the class. When the bell rang to dismiss class, I bolted.

When lunch finally rolled around I wondered through the cafeteria awkwardly trying to find a place to sit. “Carson!” I heard my name and turned to see Cameron waving me over. I sighed relieved. Even if I didn’t want friends, I didn’t want to sit at lunch alone.

I walked over and sat down next to him, “Hey!” I beamed.

I looked up and sitting across with big creepy owl eyes was another guy. “Hey, I’m Nash.”

I nodded in response, “I’m Carson.”

Taylor sat down next to me shaking his head, “So you’ll tell him your name, but not me?”

“He’s not an asshole,” I stated.

“ANYWAY,” Cameron cut in, “I’m having a party at my house tonight, you want to come?” He asked me.

Why not? Who said I couldn’t have a little fun, “Sure, I’d love to!”
