This is gonna be a short chapter, probably about half the length of my other chapters. But I'll aslo be putting out another full chapter later.

"So what was that all about?" Astrid said as she landed.

Heather scoffed. "He's Dagur, he's all over the place..."

Astrid put her hand on Heather's shoulder. "Hey, you know you can tell me anything, right? Or you don't have to, but please, just, don't lie to me."

Heather rolled her eyes. "That's the second time I've been told that today! How is Dagur so good at it and I'm not?!"

Astrid looked concerned. "Heather, Dagur lied for the pure joy of it on a daily basis, and besides lying isn't good, but you are." She stood in front of Heather. "Just because you're related to Dagur doesn't mean you need to pick up on his bad habits, I'd wager that if you ask him now, he'd tell you not to get involved with lying because it's a hard habit to break."

"You know that sounds exactly like something my brother wouldn't say, right?" Heather raised an eyebrow. "Even now."

Astrid sighed. "I swear if you ever tell him I said this, I'll deny it, but Dagur's a softie at heart, and regardless of what he did in his past, he cares for you. He'd do anything to protect you, he nearly got himself killed just to keep you from getting hurt on one of our crazy missions. He might not ever say it to any of the other riders, but he'd definitely tell you that."

Heather's eyes widened. She saw Dagur as her brother, but often times forgotten the risks he'd took to keep her safe. Regardless of what he did in the past, he was better now. "You're right. I'm sorry I lied. I just- I don't think I'm cut-out to be co-leader of the berserkers. I invited Josephine here so she could meet Dagur in the hopes that they would fall for one another so they would betroth one another and she could co-lead the tribe."

Astrid punched her in the arm. "You've been co-leading them for moons! Why didn't you tell me?!"

Heather rubbed her shoulder. "Because I was afraid you'd tell Hiccup, like you always do. And we both know he would've told Dagur."

Astrid looked hurt. "Heather," she sighed. "you know I wouldn't have told Hiccup if you confided that in me with the request not to."

Heather was hurt that Astrid was upset by her words, she hugged her battle (and soon to be) sister. "I know Astrid, I'm sorry I hurt your feelings."

"It's fine, but Hiccup sent me back to tell you that he has a friend visiting from Berk. A former Dragon Hunter with a backstory much the same as Dagur's."

Heather looked worried. "I have my doubts, but I hope they get along."

Astrid looked away and wouldn't meet Heather's eyes. "That's the thing, he wants Dagur to meet him, see if they can bond. But he doesn't want Josephine to meet him yet, not on the first day, he needs you and Ruffnut to keep her busy."

"Ruffnut?!" Heather said, confused. "Why?"

Astrid giggled. "Ruffnut has a thing for him, and he specifically asked Hiccup to keep her away."

"Doesn't Ruff have a thing for Throk?" Heather said mounting Windshear.

Astrid mounted Stormfly. "She has a thing for everybody, first Hiccup, then Fishlegs, followed by the former hunter, and now Throk."

Heather had the feeling Astrid was hiding something about this newcomer from her, which only worried her more. "Dagur wants me home soon, I'd best be off, want to ride back to mainland with me?"

Astrid held back a laugh. "I wish I could, but I have a date with Hiccup, and then afterwards...preparations for the welcome party."

Heather and Astrid bumped arms and headed in their separate ways.

MEANWHILE:

Dagur had made it home, but he stepped out one last time to watch Heather get home then went back to bed, in his natural spot, curled around Josephine like a hyper-energetic kitten who's worn itself out, and slept peacefully.

Here's chapter 13 I believe. I apologize for it being short, but this scene was needed and I didn't have enough planned a head of time to make a full blown out chapter. However I will be uploading the next full chapter either later today or early tomorrow. Stay tuned to find out who the mysterious visitor is. Though you guys are smart, and I'm sure you've already guessed. See you in the next chapter!
