My extremely annoying alarm went off and I groaned. Why did it have to be so loud?! I turned it off and literally rolled out of bed. It was a Saturday and I wasn’t usually used to waking up at seven o’clock on a Saturday morning. But I had band practice and tonight was the actual party so we had to be ready. My phone rang.
“Hello?” I said groggily.
“Hey Gwen! You ready for practice?” Janet literally shouted down the phone.
I rubbed at my ear.
“Yeah, I guess, could you talk a little quieter? I just got up. Kinda.” I replied looking down at my pajamas.
“Sorry but no! I’m excited!” she did shout.
“Thanks.”
I held the phone away from my ear.
“YOU’RE WELCOME!”
I looked out my window. It was drizzling, it’s England. It’s always raining in England including in the summer. It was so irritating. Like some people I know. I giggled at the thought. Some of the people at my school were beyond irritating and were just unbearable; I have to tolerate them though because unfortunately most of them are in my lessons. I wish they would just end up in a body bag in some unfortunate mortuary. Why couldn’t life just be simple? Why couldn’t all the pricks be in one school and all the people who actually want to learn some things in another? My life would be a lot easier.
“Jesus I’m just putting my shoes on! Have a little patience!” I shouted down the stairs. Janet had come to pick me up to go to the hall where the party was. It was 7:30. I took the stairs two at a time and jumped the last few.
“Hey.” I greeted Janet who was waiting at the door.
“Ready?” she asked enthusiastically.
I picked my bag with all my stuff up,
“I am now.”
We walked to her mum’s car and hopped in.
We spent the whole journey talking about the party. Her mum pulled into the car park and I saw Tessa’s dad’s car. We jumped out and grabbed our stuff from the boot. Tessa got out her car and walked over to us.
“Hey guys.” She greeted.
“Hi!” Janet and I said together.
“Leah is already in there setting up. She has the hall for the whole day.” She told us.
“Oh, cool.” I replied.
We walked through the double doors and into the hall.
I looked around in awe.
“Wow.” Janet gasped.
It was huge!
“Tessa!” someone called out.
We all turned around. It was Alice.
“You left me!” she accused.
“Oh! Alice I’m sorry I completely forgot about you!” Tessa apologized. “I forgot to tell you yesterday that Alice was coming to help set up.”
I smiled. Alice was always fun to be around. She was how should I put it, permanently hyper. Alice was a great friend.
“Well, extra help is always welcome.”
We turned around again and Leah was standing there.
“Hey. Where should we?” I asked holding up my bags.
