*Peeta's POV*

About two years after Finnick "came back to life" everything was back to normal. Gale and Johanna were happily married and living in District 7, had a son named Joshua, and Johanna a few months pregnant with another. Finnick and Annie were living in District 4 with their lovely son Fin, and we all kept in touch, calling now and then to give exciting news or updates on something big happening.

One morning, Katniss and I woke up to a fairly normal day. We had a normal breakfast, and a walk in the woods. It was very nice.

When we got home, I began to prepare a big dinner of beef stew with rice. Katniss came downstairs at precisely 6:00 to eat, and I asked her what she had been doing upstairs for an hour and a half.

"Oh, um, I took a shower and blow dried my hair, and you know how long that takes, given how thick it is," she says.

I knew immediately that she was lying. "Oh, is that so?" I question.

"Yes," she says, looking down at her food.

"Katniss, I love you very much, but you are a terrible liar."

She looked embarrassed, and I immediately felt bad. I hate to make her feel bad, because she doesn't need that. I apologize.

"No, is okay," she says, "Haymitch always told me that too. I was really laying in bed and thinking."

"About what?"

"Okay. So a long time ago, you told me that you wanted kids. And I saw how you played with Fin, and how you play with Joshua when we go to visit. And the night Finnick came home from the Capitol, I saw the three of them standing and hugging, and it made me have this want. Like, I really, really knew that I wanted a family. And I want to make you happy. So I've decided, that if you still want it, I'm ready to have kids."

She doesn't have to say anymore. I jump out of my chair and scoop her up out of hers and dance her around the kitchen. She has no idea how long I've waited for this. I would've waited 20 years if that's what would have made her happy. But there was always part of me that wanted me to be happy too.

She had a smile spread across her face, and tears running down her cheeks, and soon enough, tears were on my face, too. We were going to have a family. Maybe nothing was final, but I was excited. Katniss for the first time in her life wanted to have children.

"Peeta, please put me down."

"Of course."

We sat and ate dinner, and then got all snuggled up on the couch. We watched a really old movie called, "The Fault in Our Stars" and it was about these two kids with cancer who fall in love, and then he unfortunately passes away, and she's left with nothing. It's quite sad, really.

So, Katniss is still crying over the movie when I scoop her up and carry her upstairs to our room. She says, "Do you want to try?"

And in response, I lean over, kiss her, press her into the mattress, and I pray our wish comes true.
