*Katniss's POV*

Finnick stays in the hospital until his shoulder wound and broken bones have healed enough to go home, a period of time that stretches out about a month. Peeta and I go back to 12 for a little while, and Annie went back to 4 to be with Fin. Finnick was still in the Capitol, but the hospital called her, and she called us when Finnick was discharged. She asks if we would like to come to 4 to watch over Fin while she goes to get Finnick. We, of course, say yes.

A few hours later we are packed with a train that leaves tomorrow morning. That night, I ask Peeta a very important question.

"Peeta, my love, how happy would it make you to have kids?" I ask.

"You can't measure that kind of happiness." He answers.

"Well, I'm not saying I'm ready for kids, but I think eventually I will be. Maybe in a year or so."

"I can wait that long. I don't want you to do it until you're ready." When he said that, I sort of remembered that Peeta and I had never done IT before. Never. We've only just like, kissed and stuff. But I didn't want to do it until I was ready for kids, because you never know with that sort of thing.

"I love you," I say with a big yawn.

"I love you too," he says back.

The next morning, we rise at 4:00 and get to the train station, we'll eat on th train we decided. District 4 takes only about 6 hours to get to and we sleep most of the way. Annie's train leaves at 10:30 that night, so we'll have a brief time together before she leaves.

We get into the train station at 10:15, and meet Annie. She gives us hugs and thanks us for watching Fin (about 2 years old now), gives us her keys to the car and leaves. She had a sitter there until we showed up. When we get to her house, we thank the sitter and she leaves us with a sleeping Fin. We sleep in the guest room, right next to Fin's room, and fall asleep.

Fin wakes us up at 6:45ish and we get up, watch some cartoons, and Peeta makes us strawberry/chocolate chip pancakes. I have a feeling Fin can't handle all the sugar, but I watch Peeta help him eat, and it makes me want to cry. Peeta would be the perfect daddy. He just has a way with kids. It makes me feel bad for not giving him kids, and I feel maybe we should do it soon. I'm only 19, but you never know. Anything can happen.

W play with Fin all day, eat dinner and go to bed. Annie is supposed to come home tomorrow with Finnick. Fin has never met his dad, and I wonder how he'll react.

The next afternoon, Annie comes in the door with Finnick and a bunch of "Get Well" balloons and cards and stuff. Fin takes it all in. Finnick sees his son for the first time, and he cries. I don't blame him. I pick Fin up and carry him over to Finnick, who can't hold him with one arm and a ton of broken ribs. But there just look at each other, straight in the eye, Finnick crying, Fin trying to figure out who this guy is, but I can tell after a moment that Fin knows it's his dad, because he reaches out and squishes Finnick's face in his hands. It's a gesture that makes Finnick laugh and cry all at the same time. Annie takes Fin from me, and they all hug right there, and its right at that moment that I learn the true definition of a family, and I realize how badly I want one.
