(Arhur's P.O.V)

I walked over to her limp, lifeless body that laid on the sand and held her in my trembling arms.

I looked up at the turquoise sky for a moment; it's brightness mocking me as I stood here filled with regret, vengeance, and misery. I silently prayed for the first time in about 10 years.

I took the gem that was clenched inside my fist and wrapped it around her neck, it's deep red matching her blood tht her white dress soaked up. It almost looked like she was covered in rubies. She looked so peaceful....

Yet I did not see her long eyelashes flutter open to reveal her (e/c) eyes, or hear her soft breaths, or her sweet voice speak to me. The gem was suppose to be glowing if it worked....

It was not glowing.

''So you must die, and leave me to suffer your pain that only worsens, but does not go away. And what's worse, is that my love will never fade for you. '', I thought out loud.

By now, her shirt was dampening even more with a mixture of tears and blood, yet I couldn't help but stroke her soft, so very soft, hair and sing her my poem from many months ago.

''A pirate's life for me?

No, a pirate's life for you.

Your my treasure, love.

If that's what it's called, then yes,

My treasure is you.

Freedom you speak of?

If that's what you wish, love.

But remember that no gold can buy you.

But I can steal you.",

I began to continue on, almost whispering it into her ear.

"Yet even when I let you free

You've gone and stolen my key

To the deepest depths of my hollowing heart

Like wood to a dart

How many more times must I say

That I love you to this day

Why couldn't we love normally?

Like tradition, more formally

Have children together

And live forever

As I sing you to sleep

But today I must weep

For your life is fading away,

But our love will never

....I promise that"

I stared at her for several minutes, examining her facial features that I haven't been able to see in over three months.

Three months I've waited, thinking she was dead or long gone, probably forgetting about me and going back to her life that I had so wickedly taken away from her. I don't deserve her love, but I will never stop loving her. Many times had I tried to love other women, but it was never really love. I wasn't as happy as I was with ____________.

I set down her body on the soft sand, no longer covered in ashes as they began to disappear, and laid next to her and looked at the sky and held her cold hand.

"Hey love, remember that time when I left you alone to scrub the plates after I had told you I had to talk to the other crew members about our course? I actually had lied to you... As creepy as it may sound, I watched you clean the dishes through a peek in the door. I hope you don't mind... But I heard you sing a song about children playing on an island where they never grew up. Was it the island like this one? Did your parents sing you that song when you were a child? I wish to know... But I wanted to tell you how lovely you sing. You remind me of a flower in the spring, blooming such bright colours with sweet dew drops glistening off your petals. So delicate, so beautiful, yet so strong you are."

I continued on talking about memories we shared together, and some things I've never told her before that I thought she should know.

I reminded her that even from all the gold and riches and goods I have stolen before, she was

My one and only

Treasure

(Betchyou think this is over? Nope. Sit down cuz it's reader's P.O.V now)

I began to slowly open my eyes, to find myself covered in not only blood, but a body.

I glanced at the mess of blonde hair that was cradling me, petting my hair.

"A-Arthur!?"

I couldn't remember much of what happened before, it was all so hazy to me at the moment.

Arthur stopped petting my hair and froze for a split second, then replied in a rough voice,"My love... ________? You're alive!"

He pulled my body into an embrace, and I felt warmth radiate against my skin as he began showering me with kisses, and we both stayed like that for a while, too happy to say anything.

Until I saw his eyes close and his breathing getting shallow.

"....Arthur?", I began to shake him.

I repeated his name over and over, but got no reply.

"ARTHUR??", by this point I was shaking him roughly and yelling in his ear.

I checked his pulse. Nothing.

He was dead.

End.
