When we got to the hospital, I decided to hang out in the cafeteria while Sarah did whatever she had to do. But I got bored quickly and decided to walk around the hospital instead. The only floor I knew I couldn't do that on is the top floor where they put the crazies and the 51/50's. Also known as the suicidal patients.
Eventually I ended up on Davids floor. Although I was nervous and hesitant, I walked to his room. I spent the entire last two hours in there while he slept.

"What are you doing in here?", Sarah asked after walking in.

"Sitting.", I replied. What does it look like I'm doing? Building a plane? I should have said that but I didn't.

"We have to let him sleep.",she said.

"I'm not bothering him.", I replied.

"Come on. I'll take you home. They need me to work longer than expected and it's getting late. You have school tomorrow."

"Fine.", I said as I got up and walked past her, out of the room.

......

"I'll be home in a couple hours.", Sarah said as I got out of the car.

Once inside, I just kept thinking how I have no one talk to. Not even text. Keeping an address book would have come in handy right about now. No one memorizes phone numbers anymore or writes it down. I bet Liam and Carmen think I'm ignoring them. I need a way to contact them. Think Casey. Think.

"Wait a second", I thought to myself. I think I can fix this.

I went to thee desktop computer in the living room and logged into my email account. How could I be so dumb? All my contacts in my phone get saved to my email account.. There they are. It might be old school but I decided call them from the landline.

"Hey Carmen, it's Casey. Call me back on this number when you get my message.", I said, leaving a voicemail on her phone.

Next up. Liam.

"Hey Liam, it's Casey. I haven't had my phone. Call me back at this number. Okay, bye."

They probably didn't answer because they didn't recognize the number. Now all I can do is wait...

A few minutes later, the phone rang.

"Hello?", I answered.

"Casey? It's Liam.", he said.

"Hey.", I said.

"So what happened to your phone? I've been texting you.", he replied.

"My sister took it."

"Oh shit. She found out about the parties and stuff?"

"No.", I replied smiling because I knew that while I got caught, Sarah still was in the dark where she wanted to be. "She found out about me not going to school."

"Sucks. Are you gonna be at home for awhile?", he asked.

"I have no where else to go so, yeah."

"Okay, I'm going to make a stop then come by. Is that cool?"

"Yeah. I would like that."

"Cool. I'll be there in like thirty."

"See you then.", I replied.

What was supposed to be thirty minutes ended up being almost an hour.

"Hey.", Liam said as I opened the door.

Letting him in, I replied, "Hey."

"You alone?", he asked.

"As usual.", I answered.

"Good.", he said with a smile as he leaned in and kissed me. "I'm sorry about the other night."

"It's fine. It's over."

"Well I came bearing gifts.", he said as we sat at the kitchen table.

He pulled out a small baggie of cocaine and a small prepaid phone. Relief. I know will have the two things I haven't.

"So I know this phone kind of sucks but it works and it's paid for.", he told me.

"Honestly, I wouldn't even care if it didn't have color. Thank you. Really."

"No problem. And then I brought some coke in case you wanted to do some with me?"

I looked at the time on the stove. Sarah won't be home yet.

"You're my new hero and yes. Definitely.", I said.

As we sat at the table doing a couple lines and talking, it was great to have company.

"So, any plans for the night?", I asked.

"Party.", he said. We laughed because that's usually the only plan. "You?"

"No. I'm stuck here. Grounded."

He begun looking at my ankles and the floor from his chair.

"What are you doing?", I asked.

"Looking for the chains and lock. Casey, you don't have to stay here if you don't want to. Why do you listen to her anyways? She's not even here. I mean, is she ever?", he asked.

I thought about it for a moment and he's right.

"Adults have a God complex. They think they know everything and can treat us like we're weaker or something", he added. " Come with me. With someone who cares."

After thinking about it for a second, I grabbed a piece of paper and a pen.

"What are doing?", he asked.

"Going with you.", I said with a smile.

The note read:
Went out. I'll be back later.
-Casey

"Ready?", I asked before putting the note by the phone and leaving with Liam.

What I hadn't known when I got in his car that evening was that I wouldn't make it back home that night. Instead, I'd find myself in the hospital having my stomach pumped.
