Ugh, my head is spinning. I'm never drinking again. I feel like everyone says that but I mean it. Why the hell do people do this?!
There's a knock at the door before it opens. Its Lorraine.
"Casey, you up?", she said.
I sighed and then answered, " Yeah."
"Sarah's on her way here to get you. But if you want to stay a little longer, I'm sure we can work something out."
"No, it's fine.", I answered.
She came a little further into the room.
"How are you? I know you must be going through a lot and yesterday, all of that, didn't help.", she said trying to comfort me.
"Okay.", this question is getting old.
"We're always here.", she said.
"I know. Thank you, Lorraine."
"I mean it.", she said before leaving.
I guess I should shower before she comes to get me.
Ugh! I should get up.
...
I know it's probably easier for some, but why do people use the Shampoo Conditioner combos? It never works right. I do my best to comb out any knots in my wet hair. I guess this will have to do. I wonder if they have any toothpaste in here. My breath is NOT fresh and even I can tell. I May not have my toothbrush but my finger will have to do.
I open the bathroom mirror where shelves line the inside. Its a plethora of medications. Lorraine suffers from sciatica. Its something that affects your legs and stuff. Her pain meds are just like mine. Or at least a couple are - Vicodin... I don't want to take them but she has other bottles. Keeping some won't hurt I think as I throw a bottle in my purse before leaving the bathroom.
"Your sisters here!", I hear Eric say from downstairs.
"Coming!", I answer as I take a pill.
I walked downstairs to see Sara standing there. I know she drank much more than me yesterday. How is she so okay afterwards?
"Ready?", Sarah asked me.
I nodded my head afraid to ruin this moment. She's speaking to me. There's not much emotion from her end but it's better than anger or nothing at all.
"Thanks.", she told Eric and Lorraine before walking out the door. She clearly wasn't trying to converse.
I hugged, and thanked, Eric and Lorraine, then proceeded to the car. I couldn't help but to think that what if we got in other accident and I lost Sarah next. A breakdown right now wouldn't be good though. She already has her feelings towards me for what I did.
The car ride was quiet to say the least. She did have one thing to say though.
"You go back to school tomorrow."
Was I ready? Who knows. But that didn't matter.
"Alright.", I replied.
The fifteen minute car ride felt more like fifteen hours but at least we had the radio to break some of the silence. My favorite station was playing too - Billboard 100. It's cool because they play genres and songs from over time that either are, or were, on the Billboard 100.
We pulled up to the house and I waited in the car for her to park and turn it off but she didn't.
"I'll be back later.", Sarah said staring straight ahead.
"Where are you going?", I asked.
"Where I've been going everyday. To see my husband."
"Can I come?"
"You should get stuff ready for tomorrow", Sarah said just wanting me to get out.
"But I'll be-", I tried to say.
"No!", she yelled before calming down. " Go inside. Please."
I got out of the car and without sparing a second, she drove away before I made it inside.
