Chapter 4: 30

We got dropped off at a random pizza shop near the boardwalk where we would be skating to later. We entered and sat down at a booth. Someone came up to our table and took our order. Moments later, they came out with our pizza.

"Awww man can't wait to sink my teeth into this." Finn said while getting a slice.

"You made yourself sound like a vicious carnivorous animal." I said.

I ended up eating a few slices before I felt like I was going to throw up. Finn kept going though, I can't believe he was eating this much.

"Finn, you're gonna make yourself throw up."

"It's gonna be sooo worth it though."

"I bet you can't finish that last piece." I said while pointing towards the last slice on the tray.

"How much? I bet you I can."

"Ten bucks."

"Deal."

He grabbed the piece and began eating it. Halfway through though, he put it down and shook his head.

I clapped my hands together. "Ha! You owe me ten bucks."

He handed me the ten dollar bill and glared at me jokingly. We got the check after a few minutes. I set the ten dollars down on the bill. Finn looked at me confused.

"It surprisingly covers it." I said.

We grabbed our skateboards and began skating towards the boardwalk. I'm not very good at skating though, that's the problem. I stumbled every now and then. Finn seemed to notice this.

"Bro do you even skate?" he said in a surfer dude accent.

"Uh yeah. I just happen to suck at it a bit. Remember when I fell face first on your street?" I said as we were at a stoplight waiting to cross.

"Here." Finn said as he grabbed my hand.

We were finally able to cross the street and continued skating down the sidewalk. We had finally gotten there. An older woman stopped us and said we were adorable together. I realized we were still holding hands. I let go quickly.

"Oh um...we're not dating ma'am." I said.

"Oh, well that's a shame. You'll get her next time young man." she said and winked at Finn.

She walked away and left us with a big cloud of awkwardness hovering over us. I turned to look at Finn and his face was slightly pink. I knew my face was the exact same due to the heat I felt on my face. Finn cleared his throat.

"Um...anyways what do you wanna do first?"

"Arcade?"

"Definitely."

We skated to the arcade and began getting change for quarters.

"We so could've used that ten dollar bill right about now." Finn commented.

"Oh calm your tits I have a five in my pocket." I said as I handed it to him.

We played a few random games including old ones like Pac-Man and Space Invaders. We began keeping score. In the end, we tied. We decided to head down to the beach. We skated there and began walking once we reached the sand. We found an empty bench and sat down.

"You do realize you might end up being famous right Finn? That's a HUGE deal." I said to him.

"I don't even know if I'm going to get it yet."

"You will! There's no doubt in my mind."

"Thanks (y/n)."

"You know what I just noticed?" Finn said to me.

"What?"

"We're both wearing Vans."

I laughed, "Wow such a big revelation there." I said sarcastically.

I then got an idea. I took my shoes off and rolled my pant legs up (if you chose to wear shorts ignore this).

"What are you doing?" Finn asked.

"Come on! Let's go walk in the water for a bit." I said excitedly.

He smiled and began taking his shoes off too. We hid our shoes and made our way over to the water.

"So, have you talked to this girl yet?" I asked.

"I have before but I haven't let her know that I like her yet."

"Why not? I'm sure she'd be flattered that you like her." I said reassuringly.

"Eh, I don't know if I should. It might ruin what we have you know?"

Wait...

"Can I at least know her name? Maybe I can talk to her."

"No really it's fine. Thanks though."

It was quiet for a while, that is until I had another idea. I bent down and splashed water up at Finn. He gasped and looked at me in shock.

"You're so gonna get it (y/n)." Finn said.

He bent down and began splashing tons of water on me. We kept doing this for a while until the sun began to set.

We headed back over to the bench and made sure our feet were dry so we could put our shoes back on.

"Hey, how about we make a deal?" I asked.

"Depends on what it is."

"If for some reason you and I are not living with anybody by the age of thirty, let's move in together." I said.

"Deal."

When I got home, I took a quick shower and got ready for bed. I was so tired from having fun all day. My mom (if you don't have one sorry) knocked on my door and entered.

"Have fun with Finn today?"

"Yeah, I did. Like always." I said with a smile.

"I heard he got a call back for his audition. Hopefully when he gets the part he doesn't stop being friends with you." my mom said in a concerned tone.

"I'm sure he won't, he's a good person mom. You know this."

"Yes I know honey. I'm glad you two are friends. He seems to make you happy."

"Me too mom. Goodnight"

"Goodnight dear."
