-.-(major time skip oof)

It's been almost five months. Five long months without seeing Finn. He's been real busy filming for Stranger Things. We've FaceTimed a few times but that's about it. After he's done filming Stranger Things, he's going to come back for two weeks then go film IT during summer break. I won't see him until school starts again.

He got back with Mariah, sadly. He looks miserable when he's with her. After the day of the party, we began growing apart. I'm guessing it was because of Mariah and her manipulative, rich family. I hardly got to see him before he left for Georgia.

I've been keeping to myself a lot lately. I stayed indoors more, skated home more too. It gave me some time to reflect on Finn and I's friendship. I miss him, a lot. I miss him to the point where I cry when no one is around. I feel empty without him.

He's supposed to be coming back tomorrow, and I'm honestly dreading it. We haven't really had a full on conversation in a long time. I'll try to make it feel the same but it's going to be hard. I support him and his dreams but it takes a toll on me whether I like it or not.

-.-( that was just a bit of a recap )

I woke up ready to see him. I put on whatever I could find first and made my way downstairs. I sat down at the table and began eating my breakfast. My mom turned around and smiled widely at me.

"Are you excited to see him?" she asked.

I nodded and lied straight through my teeth. She didn't seem to notice though and kept talking to me about how much fun we were going to have. I quickly finished, not wanting to keep Finn waiting for too long. I debated on walking there but ended up skating.

I really hope this isn't awkward.

I took a deep breath and knocked on the door. I then heard who I assumed was Finn run down the stairs. He swung the door open and attacked me in a hug. I hugged back, butterflies forming in my stomach.

"I missed you so f*cking much." Finn whispered into my ear.

That sentence made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. I swallowed the lump in my throat to stop myself from crying. I can't stay mad at him.

"I missed you too." I choked out.

I let go and closed the door behind me. We headed upstairs and entered his room. He sat down on his bed and waited for me to join him. I smiled weakly and slowly made my way over. I sat down beside him and layed my head on his shoulder.

"I wish you didn't have to leave for so long." I whispered.

"Me too. I'm so sorry I couldn't talk to you as much as I would've wanted to. My schedule is so full I can barely keep up with it."

"How was filming?" I asked.

"It was great, amazing even. I'm real good friends with all my cast members. I wish you could meet them, they would love you." Finn said as he wrapped his arm around me.

"That's great."

"I also, um finally had my first kiss. It was part of the scene."

My eyes widened at the thought of him kissing another girl. I always thought I would be his first kiss. I quickly changed my expression and laughed lightly.
"Congrats ladies man. How was it?"

"It was weird, mostly because she's like a sister to me. It was with Millie, you remember her?"

"Yeah." I answered.

I got out of his grasp and looked at him.
"Do you wanna get out of here?" I asked.

-.-

We skated to the beach, planning on just staying there until sunset. This has become our favorite place to hang out. This time we came prepared. We each brought swimsuits and snacks to eat while watching the waves.

I took off my cover up and dragged Finn into the ocean. At first we just walked along the edge, our feet being the only thing dipped into the water. After a while, we began swimming around.

"Remember when we came here a couple months ago? I miss when we could hang out everyday." Finn said as he stared at me with a small smile.

"Yeah, me too."

Finn's POV

I lied to her, she was my first kiss. Millie was a great friend but (y/n) is someone who can't be replaced. She seemed upset, I could tell it hurt her that I left for so long. I tried cheering her up. She wasn't facing me anymore, she was watching two people laughing while taking pictures. I decided to try and brighten up her mood. I moved closer beside her and pecked her cheek. She turned to me with a shocked expression.

"You seemed like you needed it, you look upset. What's wrong?"

"I missed you a lot. I know you're busy and we can't talk as much as we want to. I understand that being friends with you means being patient." she explained.

I grabbed hold of her hand and smiled.

"I promise to try and make more time for you when I start filming again."

-.-

We sat down on the towel and ate snacks while listening to swmrs. The sun was just beginning to go down. It was still kind of bright outside.

"We still going along with that deal we made?" I said, referencing the 30 year old deal we made.

"Of course."

"Good because I don't want you to stop being my best friend."

We smiled at each other and I pulled her closer to me and ruffled her hair. We sat there for a bit, we planned on hanging out with each other every day until I had to leave. We won't let Mariah get in the way though. She can never get in the way of us.
