-.- (about a month later at school)

Finn and I were walking in the hallway on our way to class. It was a gloomy yet incredibly hot day. On our way to class, I saw Mariah. She was practically stabbing me with her eyes. I rolled my eyes and turned to face Finn.

"Hey Finn, when are you leaving for the audition call backs?"

"Today, actually. I'm going to be in LA for a few days. Sorry I'm leaving on such short notice."

"It's fine, well I wish you the best of luck. Can I go to the airport with you? I'll get my mom to pick me up after you and your dad leave."

"Yeah, totally. I'll see you in fourth!" Finn said as he walked into class backwards.

-.-

I met with Finn after school, we had decided to skate home today. I was going to help him pack and go over lines. I looked down at our intertwined hands. This has become normal for us, he knew how clumsy I could be. We arrived at his house and went into the kitchen. I sat down on a breakfast bar stool as he rummaged through the pantry for snacks.

"Catch!" Finn yelled as he threw a bag of chips at me.

I didn't react fast enough, it hit my face at full speed.

"Nice job. You should look into being a professional catcher." Finn told me sarcastically.

I laughed it off and picked the bag of chips up off the floor. I opened it and began stuffing my face.

"Aren't you supposed to be packing Wolfhard?" I said in between chews.

"Aren't you supposed to be on a diet (y/l/n)?"

"F*ck you, I'm in perfect shape for someone who doesn't exercise." I said as I threw the now closed bag of chips at him.

He put the bag of chips up and we headed upstairs. His room was a mess, there's broken glass on the floor.

"Finn, really?" I said as I pointed at the broken glass.

"Oh yeah, be careful." he said nonchalantly.

I pulled his suitcase out of the closet and put it on the bed. I saw him pick out some clothes and he handed them to me. The first thing handed to me was this green jacket.

"What are you going to wear this with?" I questioned.

"I don't know, whatever looks right I guess."

I examined the jacket and smiled. It would look good on him.

-.- (practicing lines)

"Mike?" I said.

"Yeah?" Finn said.

"Friends don't lie."

He sighed, "Well I was thinking I don't know maybe we can go to the Snow Ball together."

"Snow Ball?"

"It's this cheesy school dance, where you go in the gym and dance to music and stuff.
I've never been, but I know you're not supposed to go with your sister."

"No?"

"I mean you can, but it'd be really weird.
You go to school dances with someone that, you know someone that you like."

"A friend?"

"Not a friend." he sighs, "Um, someone like a-"

We looked at each other and our faces went red. We started leaning in when we heard Finn's dad call for us downstairs. We backed away and I cleared my throat.

"And scene! That's it, yep. We should get going." I said awkwardly.

"Uh, yeah. Let's go."

-.-

We arrived at the airport and headed inside. Surprisingly, we were two hours early. We made our way up on the escalator and roamed around. I spotted a candy store and stopped Finn in his tracks.

"I've found heaven." I said as I pointed at the candy store.

We headed in and grabbed a bag. Our bags were filled to the brim with different kinds of sweets. We each payed for our own and found a table to sit at.

"How long are you going to be in LA again?" I asked.

"The rest of the week, I'll be back on Saturday though. We can hang out then if you want."

"For sure, the regular sleepover with video games and snacks?" I said.

"You know it."

We stayed quiet for a bit while we ate our candy. That was until Finn spoke up.

"If I get the part, I'll invite you to the award shows. From the script that I got, I can already tell it's a great show. I'm sure it'll get some sort of award." Finn said with a small smile.

"I'd be honored."

-.-

After about an hour, we decided to find Finn's dad. We went back down the escalator and headed towards a waiting area. We saw his dad on the phone while writing stuff down on a notepad.

I walked with them to security. Here goes a whole week without Finn.

"I'll FaceTime you when I get to the hotel." Finn said.

We embraced each other for a while.

"Tell me how it goes, okay?"

"Okay (y/n)! I love you."

"I love you too!"

-.-

I couldn't sleep, all I could think about was him. See, here's the thing with Finn and I. Notice how we've never really said goodbye? We are so close that our goodbye is "I love you" because we never know if we're ever going to see each other again. It's meant goodbye for us up until this point, but today was different for me. Those three words meant more than goodbye to me today. Today, it was a different goodbye.

A/N: This chapter was kind of short, I usually make them about 1000+ words but this time it was only like 930. Either way, I just wanted to add this certain factor in. It might be important later on.
