Terrence's POV:
Once the team exited the locker room, I locked up and headed out, driving to the apartment to change into something more casual and less sticky.
As I pulled into my designated parking spot, I saw that there were two new cars beside me, in the spots for the apartment to my right, 816. Hmm, maybe someone finally bought the place. I should go over and introduce myself tomorrow. But for now, I needed to change.
Going inside and heading straight to my bedroom, I threw on a casual tee and some light pants. Glancing at the clock, I realized if I wanted to get there in time for the first song, I needed to move it. I grabbed my wallet and keys, hurrying to my car while ignoring the voices near me.
Practically running into the diner, I saw Kyle and the guys at our usual table. They were not their usual boisterous selves and were instead whispering to each other. Raising an eyebrow, I walked over, and greeted them,
"Hey, what's up?"
They jumped apart and gave me their we-have-something-up-our-sleeves smile before handing me a beer.
"Ah nothing, they are just about to start the lineup, is Mr. Chorus Director going to sign up for a song?" Kyle asked, smirking.
"Oh shut it, no. It's Friday, we haven't seen each other in weeks, let's just catch up over a drink, and listen to some semi-drunk karaoke." I answered, not touching the beer since I was driving.
"Whatever you say, Terrence." They chorused, sly smiles painting their faces. What is up with them?
Vidhi's POV:
"I hope you both know that I despise wearing this dress! It is way too revealing for a neighborhood karaoke night!" I grumbled as Sabrina finished curling my hair.
"Oh, for heaven's sake, lighten up! It's almost to your knees and you're showing only your shoulders!" Sabrina reasoned, setting down the curler and stepping back to view her work.
"Perfect! Let's go!" Sabrina announced, handing me a matching wristlet and black heels. Helena and Sabrina grabbed their things and we headed out to my car since I'm always the designated driver.
On our way, Helena plugged in her playlist and we jammed out to all the songs we remember from our teenage years. Ah, good old times!
"Why don't we grab a table or booth and then sign up for a slot?" Sabrina suggested, pointing out that if we didn't grab a seat soon, we may end up standing the entire night. Walking over to the table closest to the stage, Helena volunteered to sit there while I signed us up for the first available slot, and Sabrina got us some apps and drinks.
Going to the DJ booth, I saw the blank sign up sheet and put down our names. When I got back to our table, Michelle and another brunette had joined us. Helena and the brunette looked quite cozy. Hmm...did I miss something?
"Hey..." Looking at Helena, I silently conveyed my curiosity and she blushed.
"Everyone, this is Kim, a good friend of mine," Helena answered, the blush still evident on her face.
Leaning over, I whispered to Helena,
"A good friend, details tomorrow...," and to the rest of the table, I announced,
"Sabrina, Helena, we are up first, are we pulling out our classic?" With nods to confirm our song, I sipped the non-alcoholic fruit mix, content with the calming blend of citrus and sweetness.
