Vidhi's POV:
"Apples, check. Raspberries, blueberries, and blackberries, check. On to the rotisserie." I murmured to myself, making sure I checked off all the fruits I needed. Wheeling my shopping cart over to the warm lamp haven, I stopped in front of the chickens and as I picked one up, I heard an undeniably familiar voice exclaim,
"Still have time for cooking, Dr. Patel?" Looking up, I came face to face with Gabrielle Favaro. Dropping the container into the cart, I pulled her into a hug.
"Mrs. Favaro, it's been forever!"
"Damn right it has been! And what is this Mrs. Favaro business? You aren't some stranger! Gabrielle, you hear me? How have you been?" Gabrielle fired off as she squished me into a hug only she had the strength to give.
Once she released me, I answered,
"I've been good, graduated. Now I moved back here to open my practice. Actually, just got into town yesterday."
"Oh good! I'll see you at Sunday dinner tomorrow! You still have our address right?" She inquired.
"Oh um, uh yeah. But, it's been so long, I don't kno-" I attempted getting out of dinner, but to no avail, she stopped me in my tracks,
"I expect you to be sitting at my table tomorrow. Casual as always, no excuses! Have a good day, dear!" Gabrielle ended, walking off with her shopping cart, not giving me an opening to back out. Damn it. Well, might as well pull out the new cheesecake drop recipe.
Terrence's POV:
Glancing down at my laptop and then at the clock, I groaned. Was the clock moving extremely slow to irk me or am I just completely incapable of doing anything except thinking about a certain doctor that moved back to town?
I put my laptop on the coffee table and went to the kitchen to get a cup of joe. As I waited for the coffee to brew, I realized that I should probably do the dishes. Hmm...sounds like a good idea.
Putting on some music, I got started on the dishes, blowing through them in 20 minutes. The coffee was poured into the cup and creamer was added. Creamer is a must! If you like black coffee, you are either a medical student or a college student pulling an all-nighter. Hmm...maybe I should do the laundry. Laundry sounds like a good idea. I went to my room and dumped my hamper into the machine before adding some soap. What else? Maybe, I should make some food. Mac and cheese or PB&J? As I contemplated my meager cooking abilities and food options, I hear my ringtone ring in the kitchen.
"Hello?"
"You won't believe who I just ran into at the ShopRite!" My mother answered from the other end.
"Who?" I played along, hoping it was just some neighbor or something.
"Your future wife and the bearer of my grandchildren!" She exclaimed, making me groan. Oh no, please no, please tell me she hadn't run into-
"Vidhi!" I groaned louder as I pinched the bridge of my nose.
"Mother, what did you say to her?" I ask, mostly worried about how Vidhi managed to escape my mother's questioning.
"Oh, nothing. But I am going to tell you to get your heart together and go do something before the girl gets snatched up by some famous person!" And with that cheerful ending, my mother leaves me to get acquainted with the dial tone.
Vidhi definitely fit into the "or something" of my life.
