Vidhi's POV:

As I finished the crustless cheesecake and stuck it into the oven, I realized that it was way past breakfast, more like 10 am. Hm...cereal and milk will have to do. I poured some cold milk into a mug and tossed some cereal into it as well. Eating and working simultaneously is a skill essential to med school survival and one I have practiced since middle school.

As I tempered some dark chocolate, I hit play on my cooking playlist and sang along to the songs, knowing there was no one else to hear me.

Tempering the chocolate, I waited for the cheesecake to be cooled before increasing the heat for the final time. Taking a 1.5 tablespoon scoop of cheesecake, I quickly worked to shape it into a sphere and coat it in the smooth, warm dark chocolate that made me inhale its rich scent deeply. Working quickly so as to avoid reheating the chocolate, I finished coating all of the cheesecake, smiling at my work laid out on the countertop. Packing them in their carriers for tonight, I glance at the clock which reads 4:36 pm. Damn it, I only have half an hour to bring myself together. Let's hope today is a good makeup day. (a/n: When is it ever though? Especially with liquid eyeliner! Am I the only one with this issue?)

Taking a deep breath, I rang the doorbell, cheesecake drops in hand. Almost immediately, the door swings open to reveal Gabrielle. Her face lights up as she sees me and ushers me in.

"Oh honey, you didn't need to bring dessert! Although, no one in this house would ever say no to it," she laughed as she catches sight of the cake carrier.

Laughing goodheartedly, I set the carrier on the counter as I survey the kitchen. Seeing the unchopped salad, I gestured over to the cutting board and asked,

"Want some help, Gabrielle?"

"You know it! Hold up, where is Rafael? He is supposed to be helping me." Gabrielle sighs goodnaturedly, rolling her eyes as she sees her husband inspect the wine rack.

"So, what is it like to be back in town, Vidhi?" Gabrielle inquired as she stood beside me while we simultaneously chopped various veggies to throw together into the salad bowl.

"Well, I'm happy to be back in my hometown, but it is kind of nerve-wrecking to see all the people I haven't seen in years. Brings back a lot of memories as well." I answered truthfully.

"Memories like me?" Came a voice from the kitchen entrance, dressed in a familiar music polo and blue jeans.

Terrence's POV:

I hear my mother's voice carry from the kitchen as I lock the front door, accompanied by a familiar voice. Quietly padding to the kitchen, I stopped abrupted, answering the statement that hung in the air.

"Memories like me?" Ignoring the shocked look on Vidhi's face, I walked to my mom and kissed her cheek before half-smiling at Vidhi.

"Uh, hey, Terrence. It's been a while since we have done one of these, hasn't it?" Vidhi asked, her attempt at breaking the quite awkward silence that had blanketed the house.
