Chapter 18

It was so hard to get up in the morning.

One, because I was still really sore and in a lot of pain, and two, because I knew I'd have to face them at school today. Would anyone know? I couldn't let the fear of what might happen get to me. So, I got up, with a lot of help from Melanie, and got ready for school.

She held my hand as we entered the building because of how scared I was. We were on our way to our locker when I saw Niall. He was leaning his back against a locker with his leg propped up. He was scrolling through his phone and would occasionally crack a smile at something funny.

God, how I missed that smile. I've seen nothing but a smirk for the past 3 months. He looked so good. He really has grown up so much, from being a small little boy.

My eyes started to water. I just wanted him. I just wanted to throw my arms around him and have him tell me that everything was gonna be okay. I felt a slight push on my back and heard a soft voice speak in my ear. "Go talk to him, Annabean."

Her encouragement gave me security, so I started to make my way over, not taking my eyes off of Niall.

Someone shouted his name and he turned to his left to see Connor walking towards him.

I froze in my spot and fear started to override the confidence I just had going. I subconsciously started to back away in fright. I didn't want to be anywhere near them. I whipped around to see Melanie with a scowl, glaring at the two boys with murder in her eyes. I grabbed her wrist and started to limp as fast as I could to our lockers, wanting to put as much distance between me and that monster as I could.

As I sat through my next three classes, two of which Niall was in, I tried to talk to him. He either shrugged me off or I was cut off by the bell or teacher. When class ended, he darted out before I could say anything.

During lunch I glued myself to Melanie, and then the dreaded class came. The class that all three of them, including Niall, were in. I was petrified, to put it nicely.

I sat in my usual seat and played with my sweatshirt sleeves. When they walked in, I looked down and tried to go unnoticed. But obviously, that was a dumb notion to think it would work.

"Hey guys, look who it is. The whore of the decade." Logan snickered as the four of them surrounded me.

"I had a great time Friday night, Skankhill." Nick spoke.

Niall looked slightly confused. "What are you guys on about?"

Logan smirked proudly. "Let's just say she isn't a virgin anymore."

Niall's eyes widened. "Shit, you actually followed through with it?" An emotion I couldn't decipher flashed in his eyes. It almost looked like pity, but I knew I had to be mistaken.

"Yup, and I was the one who took it." Nick stated, full of pride, with not a shred of guilt.

Asshole.

"Nice." Niall patted him on the back, looking like his actions were forced.

Not gonna lie, that hurt.

"You gotta get it in now." Logan encouraged him, and my eyes widened. Code red, code red, this is not good!

A substitute teacher walked in, and it just had to be the old women, who's half blind, that everyone in this school just walks on.
