Chapter 65

Louis...

I felt like we were back at that night, rushing around to find where our broken friend had gone. Harry sat in the passenger seat next to me, while Zayn and Eleanor sat in the back. Liam had gone into Melanie's car with her.

"Louis, drive faster." Zayn complained from the backseat.

"I'm going 15 over the limit." I shot back.

"I have a really bad feeling right now." Eleanor interjected.

"Guys, just chill please. I'm already stressed out enough. I don't want to swerve us into a damn tree."

Luckily, since it was so early in the morning, and still pitch black outside, no one was out on the roads. The only car lights I could see were Melanie's, as she lead the way to this pub that Niall was at. All I could hope for was that he stayed there and didn't leave.

After a few more painful minutes, I could see a little pub peaking out of the trees. We pulled into parking spaces, side by side, and wasted no time in rushing into the building. I was a bit surprised to hear moderately loud music, and to see bright colored lights flashing around.

"I thought you said this was a pub?" I heard Harry shout over the loud noise. "And who in their right mind would want to go clubbing like this at seven in the morning?"

"It is a pub, but it's just a little bit fancier, and more for the younger crowd, than your typical dusty bar." Melanie shouted back.

"Alright, who cares. Let's just find Niall." Zayn shouted.

"Okay. The place doesn't seem too big. Let's split into two's and look for him. Everyone meet back here in ten minutes. Check everywhere." I commanded the group.

Everyone nodded and split off. I grabbed Zayn's hand, pulling him along with me. "We need to find him, Louis." Zayn said to me. He had the same petrified look on his face as he did when the two of us nearly caught him doing crack. Sadly, he ended up doing it a few times through the years, but that first night really gave us a scare.

"We'll find him, Zayn. History won't repeat itself again." I reassured him and myself.

We started wandering around the room, starting at the bar, and then drifted over to where there was a group of men watching the football game on telly. I made sure to keep my ears open so I could hear his drunken shouts.

We had been walking around for a few minutes with no sign of him. We bumped into Melanie as we were walking. "Eleanor went to go search the bathrooms, but we haven't seen anything." She informed me.

"I thought you told him to stay here?" Zayn asked loudly. "Where could he have gone?" He was starting to panic, I could tell. The memories of five years ago were getting to him.

"I did! I don't know. Maybe he left?" Mel answered back nervously.

"Lets just keep looking. Meet back in front in five." I told them before dragging Zayn away and heading back towards the TV. "It sounded like he was watching football on the phone. Maybe one of these guys saw him."

"Excuse me." I said as I tapped a young looking guy, maybe in his 30's, on the shoulder. "We're looking for our friend. Have you seen him? Blonde hair, blue eyes, really drunk." I said while making all kinds of hand movements.

"Did he have on a red flannel with a black shirt under? And black jeans and converse?" The guy asked.

"Yes! Yes, he did!" I exclaimed, getting more hopeful by the second.
