Chapter 40

Annabelle...

Melanie and I drove back in her car, while Louis and Eleanor got in theirs. I don't think I'd ever seen a grown 20 year old so excited about something in my life. They followed us to Niall's house, and before the car even stopped, he was bounding up the driveway to the front door. "Louis!" I shouted to stop him from flinging the door open and barging in.

"What?!" He shouted back as he froze with his hand on the door knob.

"Calm down, let me go in first before you scare the crap out of him." I chuckled as I approached him. If I knew Niall like I knew I did, he would be chilling upstairs having a lazy Sunday, and at the sound of a door slamming open, he'd nearly run down the stairs while having a stroke. I laughed at the thought.

"Good idea." Louis confirmed with a chuckle as he let me step in front of him.

I gave a sly smile to the three behind me, and knocked on the door twice before just stepping inside. I knew he wouldn't mind me just coming in anyways. "Niall! Where are you?" I shouted through the house, barely able to contain the excitement bubbling up in me. Having one of Niall's friends around would be good for him to distract him for a lot of the craziness going on.

"Upstairs! I'll be down in a minute!" He shouted back down. I rolled my eyes at how tired his voice sounded. I was exactly right though. He slept all day.

"Well hurry your little Irish booty! We have company!"

"Melanie?"

"Um...sorta!" I shouted up again before I heard footsteps coming down.

"Sorta? What do you mean, sorta?" He asked as he came around the corner, but quickly halted in his steps as his eyes drifted to the bubbly characters behind me.

A moment of confusion floated by him before he quickly widened his eyes with shock and pure excitement. "Louis! Eleanor!" He shouted as he ran by me and pulled the two of them in a three way hug.

I walked over to Melanie who had a big smile on her face as we both watched the group of friends dive into conversation as they caught up. "This is really nice for Niall. I'm happy we found some of his old friends." She spoke up.

"Yeah, this will be really good for him. He's spent a majority of his time worrying about me because he's only had us, but now having other people for him will do him good." I said honestly as I turned back towards the three, who have now made a little seat on the floor of the living room.

"I agree. I mean, after everything that's happened in the past couple months, he has every right to worry and be over protective, but he gets a little too hard on himself sometimes." I nodded in agreement at her statement.

It was true. Ever since that night with my father, Niall had done nothing but worry about me. Now with me having run away, and living with Melanie, he worried even more because he knew something was wrong. He just never would bring it up, but I could see it. He was suspicious and it made him more scared and nervous for me then he let on. I tried to tell him everything was alright now, but I could tell he still worried. Which I understood. I don't think he'll ever stop worrying about me, but that's just how best friends are I guess. Right?

"Hopefully this distracts him as well, having other friends around. He's been getting suspicious." Melanie said, as if having read my mind.

"Yeah, hopefully..." I trailed off as we avert our attention back to the happy group.
