Niall...
After everyone calmed down, we formulated a plan. Pretty much the only thing we could do was watch for suspicious activity. Me and Melanie were going to be seated quite a few rows up, so we'd have to rely on the others. Turning around too much could get us in trouble, seeing as we were strictly instructed by the teachers to pay attention and stay focused. Even though Harry was in the S's too, he was at least ten people away from her. Not very helpful, but at least he could try to lean forward or back to see. But like Louis said, him and El were going to keep watch from the back, and that was as good as it got.
Damn this fucking class for having so many damn kids that start with S.
So basically, I had to rely on Lou, El, and possibly Harry to watch out.
As for Annabelle, the only thing she could do was hold her ground and remain calm. We all tried to give her the best pep talk we could. She put on an obviously fake smile, and I could tell she was a nervous wreck.
Annabelle and I rode with Eleanor and Louis in his car, while Melanie followed us with Harry in her's. As we got closer to the auditorium hall, I could feel Annabelle getting more and more scared, until we actually pulled in front of the auditorium, where she nearly started hyperventilating.
"Alright. We have to go take our seats in the back. We'll be watching." Louis said in a tight voice. He walked over and pulled Annabelle into a protective and comforting hug. "Just try to relax, okay? We're all here for you. Plus, you only graduate once and you've worked hard. You deserve this. Try to enjoy it the best you can." He spoke gently in her ear.
Once they pulled away, he and Eleanor went inside the building, leaving the remaining four of us outside.
"Students! Start lining up please! Ten minutes till the entrance!" One of the teachers shouted.
We were meant to be lining up alphabetically in separate rows so we could make a nice little entrance. Mel gave Annabelle a hug before heading off to her spot. Before heading to mine, I walked Annabelle over to her spot. I held my head up protectively, and almost threateningly, and Harry matched my posture on the opposite side of her. She clung to my arm and I could feel her hands shaking. I was torn between being piss angry at him for making her this traumatized, or heartbroken at her distraught state.
I caught of glimpse of Logan standing in his spot, smirking in our direction. I glared back at him and then Connor, who I spotted doing the same thing.
When we reached her spot, I felt a small wave of relief when I saw that Nick wasn't there yet. "Annabelle, you need to let go, love." I whispered gently when she tightened her grip on me.
"I'm scared." She whimpered, causing every cell in my body to shatter.
"I know, Princess, I know." I gave her a warm hug before pulling away. I grabbed her chin in my hands gently. "If anything happens, Annabelle, I don't care, I want you to scream. I don't give a shit if the whole ceremony gets ruined. Scream for me. Okay?"
She nodded slightly while staring into my eyes.
I pulled her forward and kissed her sweetly. I felt her body finally relax with the gesture. "Everything's going to be alright." I whispered when I pulled away. "We're almost done here."
She reluctantly let go as I painfully started to walk away, even though every intuition, instinct, and cell in my body, was screaming at me to stay.
