Luke Hemmings ;

Come one Lucas, I eched myself on. Looking at the spinning blade made it harder to stay diligent. I stuck my hand slowly through the slot already shaking uncontrollably. The water in my eyes blurred my vision. Thud. I flet my heart racing inside of my frail chest.

  "Fuuuuck!!!" I pulled my hand away at the last second and cupped my face with it. "I-I can do this... I can do this...."

The taste of blood stayed on my tongue. I stuck my hand back into the slot again, trying to force myself to do it. I cried, turning away so I didn't have to see it too. I slowly pressed down, jumping as the edges of the blade cut into my wrist.

  "AHHHHHHH!!!"

It burned, before the throbbing caused it to go numb. My screams filled, echoing endlessly into the dark. Blood was splattered all over the glass as I watched the little gauge slowly fill up. It cut so deep, I thought I was going to cut my completely off.

   "Ah... Ahh-heh...."

The gauge finally filled to the top, and the blade stopped spinning. My breaths were so choppy that I couldn't breathe right. I lifted my hand off of the blade and slowly pulled it out seeing how deep the gash was. I could see bone. Everything felt so cold all of a sudden. My whole body shook excessively as my wrist gushed out blood. I fell to my knees cupping my good hand over the wound so the bleeding would slow. My jaw started to chatter. My eye lids were getting heavy as the room started to spin.

  "N-no...." I huffed.

The door opened slowly and I was free to go. I threw up blood, a lot of it. It was all over my hands. That was only half of the battle. I fell flat on my back holding my wrist, screaming in agony. The pain was starting to catch up to me. I looked over at the other alter realizing that I had more to sacrifice, but I didn't know if I had it in me again to do it.

   "Congratulations Lucas," the voice returned, but the game wasn't over. "If you're watching this, that means that you've sacrificed enough for your freedom. The choice is yours- walk out of here now and be free with the virus, or sacrifice for your cure. You have two minutes to decide, or you'll be locked in this room forever."

A Timer above the door clicked on. My heart sunk. That bastard made it so that my freedom came before the antidote.

                                                - 2:00 - 1:59 - 1:58 -

I crawled painfully over to the other alter, seeing the blade through the glass. Each tick of the clock seemed to be as loud as my screams. My stomach bubbled, my throat nauseous. I pressed my forehead up against the glass crying in plea. Blood was running down my chin from both my mouth and my nose now. I sobbed looking at my other wrist. It was now, or never.
