Gemma could hardly keep her eyes open. Made sense I mean, we've been on the road for a while. Neither of us could go home because it was too dangerous so I decided to take her to the lake house only the boys and I knew about. It was a bit of a ways but it was the safest place I could think of. Away from all the noise and people was exactly where I wanted to be.

Her head slowly started to drift down into her chest as we started swerving. I laughed shaking my head at her. It was cute in a way.

"Pull over-" I pointed to an up coming gas station.

"What? Why?" she immediately glared getting defensive.

I laughed. "Because your tired. Let me drive."

"Fine" she groaned pretending like I wasn't right. "Whatever, just don't get us killed."

We pulled up next to a pump and she propped her head back, closing her eyes. She took a deep breath pulling herself together.

"Hey," I looked over at her, grabbing her hand gently. "It's gonna be okay, alright? Look at me-"

She took a moment, but finally her eyes met mine. I could see how much she missed her brother, and the fact that it hurt her, hurt me.

"We're gonna find him" I smiled, staying positive. "And he's gonna be okay. I promise-"

"How do you know that?" her voice cracked. "We don't even know where he is."

"We'll figure something out" I sighed. No matter how positive I could be, she was right. "We have to, for their sake."

She sighed deeply too. "I guess...."

"I'm serious Gems," I said hoping she'd find it in her to smile. I haven't seen in a while and quite frankly, it was a sight I'd give just about anything to see. "He's my friend too, and we're gonna find them."

"Thanks," she cracked a small smile and it just lit up my world for a moment. "But uh, I gotta use the restroom. Leave me here and I'll kill you-"

"Wouldn't dream of it." I laughed.

She got out of the car as I just hopped over the seat. I watched her walk all the way into the rest stop just to make sure she was safe. Then, when my conscious was at ease knowing she was safe, I propped my head against the seat and turned the radio up just a bit. I closed my eyes and swayed to the beat of the song. God it felt good to finally relax for once.

I opened my eyes, and it felt like they've been closed for a while. Everything was out of focus, I couldn't see straight.

On my chest I felt little grips of pain tugging at my skin. I winced as the pain seemed to be spread out in various places. I looked down, lifting up my shirt only to realize that my wounds had all been sewn shut. Huh? I scratched my head not remembering when I had done that. Maybe one of the boys did when I was asleep.

"What the fuck?" I coughed, covering my mouth.
