Ashton Irwin ;
Gemma lied asleep in my lap. She used to like it when I played with her hair, she said it helped her fall asleep faster. So I did it, just so that she would fall asleep. I knew that if I didn't she would be a wreck like me, still awake, unable to get any rest. Luke, Calum, Michael? I shut my eyes to the horrid thoughts of them possibly being killed. Tears leaked through my eyelids as I tried to convince myself that they were alright.
I hated the smell of motel bed sheets but, we did this to stay undercover. Cleyton shared the room with us simply because he didn't trust us to be alone together. He was afraid that we would run off again, and to be honest I had half a mind to. Something about him was still uneasy but I didn't wanna say anything in front of Gemma. She had nothing to do with this, and I had no intentions of letting her get involved.
"Morning handsome-" Cleyton teased as he walked through the door, blinding me with the morning sunlight that crept through.
I rolled my eyes. "Go away...."
"Hungry?" he ignored my comment, lying down coffee cups and paper bags on the table. "I bought you two love birds food-"
"I need answers...." I mumbled.
"Yeah?" he chuckles, pulling what looked like wrapped gas station food from the paper bags. "And what's stopping you from getting them?"
"How did you know that Michael was next?" I gulped, still masking a wry face. I guess I was a little afraid to hear the answer.
"What?" he grimaced as if he didn't know what I was talking about.
"Bullshit, Eleanor told me that you knew he was next-" I huffed shaking my head at him. "So lets hear it? Because you clearly know something that we don't-"
"It was just an educated guess, I wasn't certain" he tried explaining but I didn't believe him for a second. "The girl must have misunderstood me-"
"You expect me to believe that?" I shot him a grim glare. "For all we know you could be the one doing this to us."
"If that were the case," he rolled his eyes taking a paper bag and sitting on the other bed. "Then why in the world would I keep you alive for this long-"
"Alive?" I eyed him suspiciously.
He sighed. "Figuratively speaking, as a law enforcer when it comes to missing persons cases it's best to assume the victims deceased to keep your hopes from getting up."
"We'll that reassuring, thanks." I nodded sarcastically.
"Weather you believe me or not, I'm not the one doing this" he looked at me. "And that's the truth, I don't expect you to believe me but if you want to save your friends, you need to trust me-"
"How can you even save them?" I folded my arms across my chest. "Do you even know where they are?"
"Here-"
He pulled a file out from under his pillow and handed it out for me to take. I eyed him suspiciously before finally reaching out to take it. I opened it slowly to see more pictures of abandoned places and other dead bodies. I dropped the file on the floor, covering my mouth like I could smell it. The pictures and papers spilt completely all over the carpet.
"What the fuck is all that??" I grimaced almost throwing up.
"Well they were possible locations," he shook his head kneeling down to gather everything. "I sorted these thanks-"
