"I don't know about this..." I looked to Cleyton who stepped out of the car. "This place is, horrid-"

"Do you want to save your girlfriends life or not?" he narrowed his eyes at me.

"I thought you said you could do it?"

"And I am! I'm bringing her to someone who can help" he shook his head. "Come on, she doesn't like surprise visits but, she owe's me a favor-"

I sighed heavily looking down on Gemma's face. She fell asleep and that made me nervous. I picked her up in my arms, being gentle not to hit her head on anything.

The gravel under my feet felt like I were walking on eggshells with Gemma in my arms. I followed Cleyton up the patio stairs to the front door, creaking with every step. Cleyton lightly knocked on the old screen door echoing throughout the old house. The eerie sound sent chills down my back. Gemma softly moaned in pain turning her head. I kissed her on the forehead trying to stay strong.

"Fuck, hurry up-" I croaked catching my breath.

"Come on Jill" Cleyton mumbled still knocking on the door. "I know you're in there-"

The door from the inside slowly creaked open, revealing a middle aged woman. She had brown hair that parted ways out of her face evenly, and eyes that were dark hazel. She immediately shifted her glance suspiciously between the three of us before finding home in Cleyton. Immediately she sighed rolling her eyes as the door swung fully open now.

She folded her arms across her chest tapping her foot. "What do you want?"

"Don't give me that look" Cleyton scoffed. "We need your help-"

"And why would I help you?" she raised an eyebrow. Clearly there was tension between the two of them. "You're a snake-"

"Because you owe me-" Cleyton shot her a hinting glare.

She contemplated like she knew he was right. Her glare shifted to me and Gemma. "Is this a joke? Are you purposely trying to-"

"They're friends-" he shot her an odd glare I couldn't quite catch the meaning of, but I didn't have the time to. "She needs medical help-"

"So go to the hospital down the street-"

"These are real friends Jill..." he fell silent and I couldn't hold it in any longer. "You know why we can't go to the hospital..."

"P-please!" I begged holding Gemma out in my arms. Tears were starting to blur my vision. "She's dying, she needs help and he says you can help her-"

"God..." she covered her mouth with her hand. "Even if I wanted to, I don't have the things I need to fix her."

"I can get it for you, I saw a pharmacy on the way here" Cleyton offered. "I know you can do this."

She thought hard on it. "I don't know about this-"

 "Please?" I begged, crying.

She saw something in my face, I don't know what it was but, she couldn't look at me without masking a huge look of regret. Why did she look at me so caring? Despite the way she might have refused to help Gemma, I could see the gleam in her eyes.

She finally sighed opening her door. "Alright, lay her down on the couch-"

"Thank you so much!" I huffed walking past them.
