A/N: Warnings are depressing themes.

Your life was tough. You were taught from a small age to bottle your emotions. If you were sad now, you would just ignore or write it down. Some of the things you wrote down were scary. You were beaten up in high school for being a teacher's pet. You were spat at by your parents and your bullies. You only had four close friends and one committed suicide just a couple of months ago. Once you turned 18, your parents pushed you out on the streets. You were used to living on the streets until your aunt found you about three months ago.

Now you were living with your aunt till you were either accepted to a college, trade school, or into a working field. You did make up and nail art really well and your aunt was trying to get you a job. Though now your life is better that doesn't mean you wish you could just die. You decided to take a walk to the nearest park and sat down on a bench.

"I'm doing better so now why am I sad? I wish I could just die." You asked before you pulled out your notebook. You began to write your emotions but today wasn't helping. You felt like crying. You shouldn't but you feel it.

"Excuse me Miss. I was just wondering if you're okay?" A guy with brown hair and brown eyes said.

"I feel like crying." You said as his eyes softened. He sat down beside you and you flinched.

"Then how about I sit here and you cry?" He asked.

"I don't even know you." You said as his eyes widened. "What?"

"Nevermind. I'm Thomas Sanders. You are?" He asked as you looked at him.

"Y/n L/n." You said as his soft hand clamped on yours. You looked shocked at his compassion for a random stranger. "Why do you care?"

"Well Y/n, I could tell you were depressed but let me guess, you were taught to not show your emotions?" He asked as you nodded your head. "It's Okay to Cry."

"Thomas I haven't cried since well I can't remember. I was weak in high school." You said as Thomas wrapped his arm around your shoulder.

"But crying doesn't make you weak. You've just been holding on for so long." Thomas said as he saw your bruised fists. He hugged you tighter. "What happened?"

"I ran into a couple of bullies who began to beat me. Calling me worthless, stupid, idiot, bitch, whore." You said as you noticed Thomas flinch. "It's normal."

"This shouldn't be normal!" Thomas exclaimed. You looked at him shocked as he picked your hands up and kissed your hands. "If you ever feel depressed, call me."

He gave you a piece of paper and for once, you felt calm from him. He made you smile and not feel bad about it. Thomas would be someone to call. You two continued to chat regularly after that event because he made sure you didn't hurt yourself.

It was about three weeks after you met Thomas and you had lost your job and a few other things happened. You asked him to meet you at the park. You began to walk to the park when your two bullies Madison and Harper walked up to you. With their caked make-up and bleached hair, they came up and began to call you names and hit you. You really wished they would hit you hard enough to make you die. Harper finally hit your head that you hit the ground. The world started to fade before you heard someone screaming your name and the two girls try to flirt. You didn't know that Thomas went to go look for you and found you getting beat up or that he told the girls to lay off or else. He protected you from them.

He picked up your fragile body that was covered in bruises and ran to his car. He laid you lightly on the backseat before driving fast to the nearest hospital. He was worried that he wouldn't make it in time. As Thomas arrived at the hospital, the doctor came in and took you from him so Thomas could call your aunt. He told her what happened and she said that she would be there as soon as possible.

"What's this?" He said as while he called your aunt, your journal slipped out. He opened your journal and was surprised at what he found.

Days go by
Darkness spreads over
Dreams die
And soon I will
Y/n April 15, 2017

That was the day he met you. He didn't realize it was that bad. He began to flip to the beginning.

Parents don't care
They hate me. (DISGRACE)
They want me gone. (LEAVE)
One day, the darkness will overcome
Y/n July 27, 2016.

Thomas flipped to the end where he saw yesterday's date which was the anniversary of the first writing that he just read.

Last year, parents said they didn't care
Now I have A/n and Thomas
They care...
I hope Thomas does, my heart is beating too fast for him.
Maybe he's my light

"Thomas! Where's Y/n?" Your aunt asked as Thomas began to explain the story and tell her what exactly happened and where you were. She began to cry as Thomas comforted her. "I'm glad Y/n has you."

"I'm glad I have her too." Thomas said as the doctor came out.

"You may go see her." The doctor said as Thomas ran back there. Your e/c eyes met his brown as he held you hand and sat the journal on your desk there.

"You read them?" You asked a little scared as Thomas sighed.

"I read some. I didn't read a lot since I figured it was too personal." Thomas said as you sighed. You noticed him sit down beside you.

"I guess." You sighed.

"But I did read one that I have to tell you." You looked at him confused. "I love you Y/n."

"Y-You what? You have to be joking!" You exclaimed as Thomas shook his head no. "B-But!"

"No buts. I love you ever since I met you. Y/n I find you beautiful and I will help you if you feel sad or depressed. You can cry on my shoulder all you want." He said as you felt tears run down your face. Thomas walked over to you and wiped those tears before kissing you softly on the lips and hugging you.

"Well I guess you don't need me?" Your aunt teased as you blushed and Thomas did too. "Don't worry, I accept."

"Thank you A/n." You said as Thomas hugged you.

You were in the hospital for three days before the doctor let you go. Once you got out, Thomas set up a dinner and movie out in his backyard where he had your favorite food. You knew Thomas would be there for you and that you could cry without feeling "emotional". Especially with someone as compassionate at Thomas.
