A/n: Reader is like Roman in attitude.

You have always been a bit outgoing. You never knew a stranger as your mother put it. That's why you moved to Florida for work. You are a vlogger on Youtube that goes through your day to day life making lives better. You always wanted a smile.

When you moved to Florida, you realized how fun it was. You met this awesome guy named Thomas Sanders who was also a Youtuber too. He did fun videos on his channel which was whatever he felt like. You were super excited to come with him when a week after you moved, he asked you to come over and shoot a video. You said yes of course!

You plugged Thomas's address into your GPS and drove over to his place. His place was only 20 minutes from your house which was a plus. When you pulled in, Thomas came out and waved at you. You got out and hugged him tightly.

"Thomas! It's so good to see you." You exclaimed as he laughed.

"You saw me two days ago!" He laughed as you laughed.

"That was two days too long!" You said as you heard a growl. You turned your head up and a guy that looked like Thomas but dressed in all black was staring at you with cold eyes.

"What is this rambunctious child doing here?" The guy asked asked as Thomas rolled his eyes.

"This is my new friend Y/n. She's the same age as us. She just is like Roman. So quit acting rude Virgil." Thomas said as the boy supposedly named Virgil groaned.

"We don't need another. One is enough." He groaned as three more guys like Thomas came out. Thomas introduced them as Roman, Logan, and Patton while Virgil walked away.

"What's his problem?" You asked.

"He just doesn't like happiness." Roman said as Logan shrugged.

"He just needs some kindness!" Patton said proudly.

"He hates people like me and Y/n." Roman snapped as you flinched. "Sorry Y/n."

"Guys, can we please go inside so Y/n and I can make our video." Thomas exclaimed as you nodded your head. The others went inside as you followed Thomas. You helped him set up along with vlogging your experience with setting equipment up. You laughed when Thomas was joking around when you heard a growl.

"Can't you two flirt somewhere else and not in the living room?" Virgil snapped as you smiled at him but Thomas pulled you to him.

"We weren't flirting. I was joking around while we set up." Thomas said.

"Aren't you afraid you'll hit something and it will break or your equipment won't act right or that nobody will watch your video?" Virgil asked as Thomas looked down with a frown.

"Oh come on Thomas! Doing a video based on self-love and inspiration is the best video. This will bring happiness to people." You said in an encouraging tone.

"Shut it L/n." Virgil snapped as Thomas grinned and you two started the video.

By the end of the video, you were both tired but made your video to the best. Patton came in along with Roman talking about what to do for self-love which was like a mini Sander sides. You were sitting with Thomas editing your vlog while he was editing his video when the other Sanders came down and sat with you besides Virgil. You all were laughing at the video even Logan when Virgil came down the stairs and crossed his arms. You didn't know that he just wanted you to help him smile or that he wanted you to make jokes with him but he wouldn't tell you that.

"What's going on here?" Virgil snapped as everyone was quiet. "I see. You guys were having fun without me like usual. Look, just because Y/n is here doesn't mean she'll stay. She'll leave like the rest and who knows when she'll be coming back so quit trying to be friendly." Virgil said in a not so harsh voice before walking up the stairs. While the others continued to laugh with Thomas, you stood up.

"Where are you going Y/n?" Thomas asked as you sighed.

"I'm going to talk to Virgil." You said as Roman grabbed your wrist. "I know what I'm doing."

"Y/n, he's built walls that nobody can crack. We're just now beginning to make a dent but not even a crack. He doesn't trust easy." Roman sighed as you pulled your arm out.

"I'm still going up there." You said as you began to walk up stairs. You noticed the different bedrooms and their nameplates were on the doors. You walked down two doors and saw Virgil's name on the right. You heard some music playing as you knocked softly on the door.

"I don't want to come down Patton. Just leave me alone." You overheard him yell.

"It isn't Patton." You said softly as you heard a sigh. The door opened and Virgil blocked out his room to you. He looked sad.

"What do you want?" He snapped. You noticed his eyes were guarded.

"Virgil, I wanted to see if you were alright and talk to you." You said as he rolled his eyes.

"Don't try to be friendly. You're just like the rest. Be nice and get up and leave forever, okay?" He snapped as he began to close the door. You stuck your foot in the door which blocked him from escaping.

"Please don't shut me out. I want to know why you are guarded and why you don't like people like me?" You begged as Virgil sighed.

"Come in." He said as you followed him in. You looked around and noticed his Nightmare Before Christmas poster and purple room. You smiled at the poster before he cleared his throat and patted the seat beside him.

"Y/n, I'm Thomas's Anxiety. I'm the persona behind it. I'm on guard because I don't want Thomas to get hurt. He wears his heart on his sleeve but if I can protect him then nothing bad will happen. People like you and Roman are so optimistic that you'll get hurt in the end and learn to be like me and Logan." Virgil said as you looked at him.

"I understand you are protecting Thomas but somebody like me being optimistic instead of pessimistic is wrong?" You asked as he sighed. "No, hold up. I try to be your friend because I know what it was like to be alone. I had that happened. I moved here to further my career and get away from being alone. I chose to be optimistic when nothing else could happen. It's not my fault." You said as you stood up. "And I was beginning to like you."

You walked over to the door before you opened it just a little before it was slammed shut. You turned around and Virgil had you pinned to the door.

"You liked me?" He said as you nodded your head. "Is it because of your optimistic personality or just because you want to be around me. Look, I built my walls because I'm not getting hurt."

You leaned forward and kissed his lips softly. You felt him gasp before kissing you back. You wrapped your arms around his neck as his hands tangled in your hair where you felt his callouses brush against the nape of your neck. You shivered and got closer to Virgil who hugged you.

"Does that answer your question?" You asked as he smiled. "You're smiling!"

"I guess I am." Virgil said as you hugged him tighter. "Woah!"

"I really do like you Virgil. My heart was speeding 90 miles per hour and I wanted to be with you. Even your pessimistic side." You said as Virgil smiled.

"I'll love you and your optimistic side as long as you continue to make me smile." He said as you burrowed your face against his check.

When you two went downstairs, the other Sanders were looking at you two in shock but Patton was the first to hug you followed by Thomas, Logan, and then Roman. You felt Virgil tense but you held his hand and hugged with your other arm. You felt him sigh into the hug and you realized you might have just repaired his family relationship too with just a little bit of optimism.
