A/n: This is take on the reader being a logical person but as an addition, this will also turn into a song-fic later. Some angst but happy ending.

You were long time friends with a nice fellow named Thomas Sanders since you two were seven. Later on when you guys aged to around 20 years old, his personalities came to life. You were surprised to meet everyone and began to research more. You wanted an explanation for his personalities but there were none. You got along with Logan really well since even he wanted an explanation to this dilemma. Roman was really outgoing but with your brain and his spontaneous attitude, you came up with many projects. Then there was Virgil who even though he was abrasive, he was fun to talk to when you wanted to have deep conversations.

The only one you had trouble getting along with was Patton who can't even say Adulthood. He made you angry and upset. He never understood when to use his mind rather than his heart. It's not always a good idea to do the right thing. You two argued a lot more than him and Logan and it was probably because he liked you a lot. He fell in love with you when he first met you and Thomas introduced you two. Patton always found you interesting by your mind but never knew how to talk to you.

"Y/n! Can you come over? Logan needs your help." Thomas said as you nodded your head. You quickly made your way over to Thomas's house and you knocked.

"Hey Y/n!" Patton answered as you nodded your head.

"Hey Patton. Sorry I'm here to see Logan." You said as you brushed past. You were getting ready to turn upstairs before your wrist was grabbed.

"Y/n, why don't you hang with me?" Patton asked as you noticed there was a somber look in his eyes. You hesitated before speaking.

"I can't. I can't be around someone who doesn't use his mind at all." You stated before watching hurt flash in his eyes. You suddenly regretted what you said. "Patton I-"

"Save it. I do use my mind. I just tend to use my heart. At least I have a heart unlike you." Patton growled as you watched Patton ran out of the house. You felt your heart break for him before Logan came down. Your hands began to shake.

"Y/n I have to talk to you. I know an explanation why we became- Y/n?" Logan rambled as he reached out for you.

"Just shut up Logan." You stated before pulling away and walking into the kitchen.

I know there's something in the wake of your smile.
I get a notion from the look in your eyes, yea.

Patton always knew when you felt bad. His eyes were warm and kind towards you. He would ask you to call him dad and you always teased him badly. He made you smile even though you argued.

You've built a love but that love falls apart.
Your little piece of heaven turns too dark.

Patton never let you feel bad when you wanted a break from Logan. He'd get offended while Patton let you stay and watch Disney movies with him. He seemed to like to be with you.

Listen to your heart
when he's calling for you.

"Y/n, why don't you hang with me?" Patton asked as you noticed there was a somber look in his eyes.

Listen to your heart
there's nothing else you can do.
I don't know where you're going
and I don't know why,
but listen to your heart
before you tell him goodbye.

"I can't. I can't be around someone who doesn't use his mind at all." You stated before watching hurt flash in his eyes. You regretted it. "Patton I-"
