Wills POV:
Mom and Jonathan were going crazy with the pictures, and the fact that my brother is camera mad did not help. Mike kept calling me on the radio telling me to hurry up because he didn't want to be late for el. I haven't known el as long as the others but I feel like (apart from mike) I'm the closest to her, she is like a sister to me. We hang out together even outside the rest of the squad and I really connected with her as we had the same experiences in the upside down. I suddenly heard my radio crackle and Lucas telling max (the newest member of our party) how pretty she was in between snippets of conversations with Dustin.
"GET A ROOM YOU TWO!" I shouted down the radio laughing and I could almost feel Lucas' death stare through the radio. Dustin called and told me that mike was flipping out about not being late for el and I told my mom and brother that I had to go. I rushed out of the door and stood for about 3 seconds on my front porch before the whole squad came rushing down the hill and screeching to a halt outside my garage, el perked precariously on the back of mikes bike. She hopped off and gave me a huge hug having not seen me a lot during the summer. Mike was getting increasingly jealous so just to push him off the edge I told el that she looked beautiful, which wasn't a lie and mike stormed over and separated us, both myself and el suffering with a server case of the giggles.
El's POV
Mike looked a bit mad so just because we are nice people, me and will started pretend "flirting" just to annoy mike even more.
"Wow your outfit is really pretty El!" Will said, loud enough for mike to hear, trying to hide his laughter and swerving all over the road in the process of doing so.
"Thanks will," I said in a funny whispery voice but again, so that mike could hear. "You have grown too, the perfect height for resting my head." I told him in the funny voice and I felt mikes breathing get faster and him pedal a little harder.
"Mike, chill," Dustin piped up. "They're just winding you up. They are more like brother and sister than anything," Dustin said, ruining our joke but calming mike down. As we slowed to a stop I told mike that there was no need to be jealous, to which he replied: "I'm not jealous, and stormed off, quickly returning and putting a protective arm around me when he saw me slow down a little and go walk alongside Will. And just like that, there we were: my first day of school.
